try level shadows
on a new layers, also try to copy a part of your drawing on this new layer, and flip verticaly also try to distort or modify respecting the colors darking , lighting or also angle of the light on you drwaing it appears to come from the back so your shadow will come form the back to the front around the leg or arm.
 i think also this way because i am a oil painter so you need to look at the parts and klip move turn or distort and respect the colors but make them darker or lighter depends of light effect.

i did tried but 7 on vista but you can see that there is a little bit of a problem with the windows in general do not be surprised, but i didn'e had many problems with the program itself, i didn't used all the functionalities so it always could come some functions that have conflicts but hope not to meet them.

photoshop can give you possibilities but the effects must be combined

i am almost sure, if you use a combination of glass, plast wrap, and emboss, or blending layers,
you can find a way to resolve the work, but the time can be long to make the effect,
and also mask and i am not a specialist, with mask but it will be necessary.

you can also try to make a game between light effects.
put maybe water on a glass and scan it and work on it but take care with water and scanner
lol use an other recipient to contain your liquid form for exempel just a few drops and you draw with a finger on the glass plate.

i have a diculty to understand the wuestion but the links lead to beautyfull work 
the web can be heavy to manege because of all the transitions I suppose

if you work with director or flash yes you need to work on each frames 
do not forget to adjust the size and places

any way you can also work in photoshop or psp or painter and after import som gif in a gif animation if you do not have premiere flash or director

you can also try in movie maker but all your pictures must be realy aligned from each others
