And I just realized that maybe I should have posted this over in Poser Technical. Man, I'm terrible at this forum thing. At least I gave the post the right title this time.

Hmm, re: Gorodin. I see some things in there that look enough like tori, even if they're just reflections of the actual torus, for me to give it a tentative yes. Plus it's, y'know, gorgeous.

I feel the need to point out that, under normal circumstances, I do in fact know all the names of the months and their order. No, really. They made me memorise them in school and everything. I thought 'July', typed 'June' -- ah, the joys of human error. And also to point out, a bit belatedly, that 2D and 2.5D artists are absolutely encouraged to join, though from what I remember from art class, the prospect of drawing more spheres and cubes may not exactly entrance them. And, finally, that this is all very exciting and the entries are great, even if Baztd did beat me to the puzzlebox idea. Sigh. ;)

Oops. I was going to post the challenge tonight -- actually, a couple of nights ago, but I've been unspeakably busy the last couple of days and kept not being able to get to it. (I think the mail server may have misbehaved or something, too; I got the mail on the third.) Ah, well; this sounds like an interesting one. I'd like, rather belatedly, to thank the people who voted for me; I'm honored. Oh, and the Academy. Can't forget to thank the Academy. ;)

Modeled and rendered in ZBrush (the head turned out as sort of a later iteration of the first thing I modeled in that application, but purely by accident; I didn't start in on it until I wandered through here and saw this challenge), with some touchup in Photoshop. Four light sources.
(Also, hi; this is my first post here, though I've been lurking on and off for, er, two or three years.)
