Hey BMW 7 series cars crashed and had to have a firmware update!

Anyways Poser 7 on the Mac NEVER crashes on me. It just won't let me open ANYTHING I save :)

I think Daz3d doesn't even run on my computer! (Intel Mac)
What's locked about the V4 though? I have been gone from the scene for awhile (Took Poser 7 to bring me back into the hobby)...

hey at least the character has more then a pair of pants and a shirt. I just jumped into poser after a long hiatus found katie g2 and off I went! unfortunantly there is NOTHING AT ALL for her outside of what came bundled that I could find!!!

And the textures that came bundled with that outfit are NOTHING special. I had to open them to see if there was ANYTHING but solid grey on it.

Texture swaps on clothing isn't going cut it. I need clothes for my character too. I have wardrobe wizard but don't know if it can be installed on the mac :(

I swapped PC to MAC this version because my Mac is  more stable and can push the bigger monitor , my pc can't.

On the mac... Opening almost any file saved by Poser 7 gives me XXXXXX(Filename)undo.obj (think that's the general name) not found.

That file is no where on my computer, skipping the file means what ever object that was (usually my main character!) is not there or is missing things like a body.

thanks! trying to decide if I should pursue using Katie or bite the bullet and switch to something different. I have the original militeens but she just seems dated compared to what I did in one day with the katie model.

OSX is different then Windows when copying... you can't simply drag a new runtime over to an old runtime and hope it copies the files that are DIFFERENT. In OS X (THE BIGGEST FLAW IN MY WORLD!) is that it replaces EVERYTHING all at once.

I was actually looking for a way to "append" a directory when I read this post :)

I usually just log into a windows machine and copy and paste windows style and it works but all my windows machines are DOA right now.

I did get P7 for the mac after some SERIOUS effort. I couldn't find my serial numbers for ANY of the five copies I owned before!!! To make it worse my IBM wouldn't fire up!!! So it took awhile to get a machine together enough to boot and copy down the serial

RANT: I typed in my serial without logging in the first time and it KNEW it was registered to someone... after logging in it accepted the number since it was registered to ME. SO WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST LET ME BUY THE PROGRAM IF THEY KNEW WHAT SERIAL WENT WITH MY ACCOUNT?!?! I wouldn't have to jump through all the hoops!

First glance? There is a WEIRD opengl preview issue... at times things like hair and shirts etc. disappear based on where the camera is. Not completely, just in random chunks. I rendered it when it was like this and everything was ok. That is strange. Didn't happen on the pc copy I was playing with.

FAST YEP. I can multitask and read the forums etc while it renders. Doesn't seem to tax the processors for some reason though. Nothing ever really maxs out in Activity Monitor when rendering. um. Strange.

20k and they "think" they are still shipping. there goes that idea. Even if I had the money I would want the company to KNOW if they are shipping or not.

ok. how much? I remember this from awhile ago but it was on a Japanese only site and no one really knew anything about it. I want one.

Question. I brought it up before... Why not find someone who will make a poseable "model" where you move the model and that generates pose information to the computer? Then you could use keyframing to generate movement. I know it's not quite the same theory but it would make doing initial poses so much easier!

Not every piece of software suddenly quit working... for example Vue seems to work and most my music programs work... seems only programs I paid more then 200 for don't work :) I could see Pro Tools breaking since it involves Core Audio, but for Poser to quit working because of a window bug is semi-annoying. If Curious Labs doesn't patch Poser 5 for OSX 10.4 then they are going to be on my bad list forever because there just isn't enough reason to upgrade to Poser 6 in my opinon.

yea after i bought it and in the last page of the manual is where it says it's not cross platform. simply doesn't work. used the rendercow that came with the windows version of the vue demo and it refused to update that machine and go. i think they should have made it more clear - even this forum tought it would probably work with just mover 5. now i wish they would just say give me x amount of money and your mover will do what it wants. i look at that upgrade list and get a headache trying to figure out what to do. thanks

You can license additional rendercow nodes seperate from Vue licenses I think. But I don't think that you are limited on Vue Infinte Pro 5 or what ever the new top line copy is. Think it's unlimited rendercow nodes.

See I do the opposite. I usually work on the G5 (I have a dual 1.8) since I have dual widescreen monitors (The 20 inch cinema display and a Sharp widescreen). The work area speed is bareable though I do hate losing my camera view window - it goes blank and I have to minimize and then maximize the program to get it back - but the trade off is I am on the same machine I have email and chat etc running. I then save it to a network share and make the IBM actually render. This leaves the main mac open again to work with any changes I am thinking about while it goes. I love the vue rendering with my G5 and my powerbook, but I really want ALL my computers to share in the load. I might buy two of those sub $500 macs that are rumored to be announced on Jan 11. just to use in a render farm.
