Where can we download the alembic mesh cache addon for blender mentioned by lobo3433? I know blender has its own mech cache importer but the specific python script mentioned in the demo video. TY.

Thank you for the help and the translation. I currently have the VWD files in my main c:/ drive as c:/VWD. I also tried them in the poser directory but remembered reading that if I was having problems try and relocate them to the main directory. Maybe the admin rights is causing problems on the C;/ drive but I don't know why it would have problems using poser and not the other programs. But I will try moving the VWD files to my data drive and see if that changes anything.

Thanks again for taking the time to help. It happens in all scenes in Poser, but only in Poser not DAZ or Carrara. What does the error windows translate to in english?

I tried hitting the record animation button and I immediately received that same french error. I hit the OK button acknowledging the error, but VWD is still running in the background. I can press the stop simulation button and it stops. But if I then again press the start dynamic simulation button I immediately get the same error. And if I just let the simulation continue it goes on and on and produces no visible results.
I have my VWD files set up as C:/VWD if that makes any difference. They are not in my actual poser directory substructure.

The error comes up almost immediately after I start the dynamic sim. I have probably set something up incorrectly because it has done the same thing with poser for the last versions of the plugin also. I just don't know why it works with Carrara and DAZ but not poser. And again, a static sim works fine, it is just the dynamic ones and I don't know what that error means.
Thanks for the speedy reply :)

Sorry for the delay in response. I am currently using VWD version 408.2976. I have and continue to get the french message described before almost every time I run a dynamic sim in poser 2014. I can run a static sim and it works, but then without changing anything if I try and run a dynamic one I get the error message. Using cloth I get that error about 50% of the time. Using hair I get the error 90+% of the time. Sometimes I also get the python error below:
Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:....RuntimePythonposerScriptsVWDExchangevwd.py", line 5, in modif_verts() File "C:....RuntimePythonposerScriptsVWDExchangevwd.py", line 222, in modif_verts
File "C:....RuntimePythonposerScriptsVWDExchangevwd.py", line 93, in export_verts_figure
I also have the Carrara plugin and the DAZ studio plugin. Carrara works most of the time. I have yet to get DAZ to work correctly. Your plugin goes through the calculations but the mesh is deformed, usually squished down in one axis like flattened and not in the correct positioning that the original figure was at.
Sorry I'm not more technically inclined to explain things better. But the Lecture ua-dela' de la fin de fichier error is what constantly shows up in poser for some reason. This error does not show up in DAZ studio but the mesh gets deformed. And then things work much better in Carrara but I do sometimes get that same error. And sometimes the "xxx.obj cannot be found" error message.
Thanks for the great work on these terribly missing features from all three of those products. I know the bugs will all get worked out in time. If no one else is reporting these errors I am sure it is on my part. But I have also reset to default all the attributes and it doesn't change the results.

Sorry for the delay. I have windows 10, 16gb ram, GTX760 card, Intel 6 core. I have tried numerous times using poser to get the plugin to work. With the older version of the plugin it would give me the beyond end of file error about 50% of the time and then not work afterwards. The newer version I have now gives me the error almost 100% of the time. I think I have gotten it to work once. I also have the Carrara bridge and it also worked better with the older version. The newer one gives me wild, unpredictable results. I just bought the DAZ plugin also and have not been able to get it to work correctly even once. Again, very wild distorted results. I have gone back to using the previous version 408.2976 I think it is.

Does the program work along side of Poser's built in soft body dynamics? I tried a sim with cloth and hair and things worked. I then tried adding some softbody movement to the character and then do a sim and I keep getting this pop up error, which I can't read - "Lecture au-dela' de la fin de fichier." I don't know what this means and it wasn't clear when I tried a translation. So, will the two co-exist with each other and is there any special way to do so?
Thanks you.

I figured it out and it wasn't your fault but mine. I installed python 2.7 into my system and removed the older version. I did not go into the poser preferences and update the python setting. When I clicked the python button in poser and pointed it to the new install of python it is now working.
But, I also will not use the .pzz format, thanks.

I have just bought this fine plugin and am using it in Carrara without problems. But, in Poser 10 I cannot. Each time I run the plugin it loads the items fine, runs the simulation fine, but then when I hit the send animation to host button it immediately closes the scene and opens a new blank one. I then find two files in the VWD exchange folder. Both of them are named New Scene.pzz. One is only 2 bytes long and invalid. The other is the scene I just had up with the simulation running. The new VWD object file is now in the scene but there is no simulation data. This happens every time I run a sim in Poser. Is there a setting I need to change for this? The plugin performs w/o problems in Carrara.

I am also using the fine plugin for Carrara and everything works fine. There are no screens from Poser. I run the sim and everything seems normal. But as soon as I hit the button to send the animation to the host application, Poser all by itself closes out the scene I had been working on and opens a brand new empty scene. Everything is then lost.

Sorry, just bought the plug-in and having problems in poser. The simulation runs fine but each time I try and send the animation back to poser it basically closes the scene (though it still shows in recent files but w/o any animation) and loads a new scene in its place. Hopefully I am doing easy to fix.
