It's Friday 09.44am here... on a cold wet winter day..... but all's not lost I off Fly Fishing this afternoon. Nothing like standing in a snow fed river...freezing your nads off...pondering the mean ing of Spam! :biggrin:

I started this thread...asking if anyone elses mail address might have been "Lifted" as in "nicked or sold" to see if I was the only one who was changing addresses and still seeing spam.

I'm obviously not!

I'm thankful the admins are "Looking into it"

Spam is the "Arse of the internet" in my view. That said.....my world isn't going to collapse!

Shame it always comes down to finger pointing, moaning, bitching, he said/she said blah blah blah.

I just need to know that "everything" than can possibly be done to prove there isn't an issue with the site has been, or is being done.

Acadia, I started this thread, I completely agree with you.

The address I had set at rosity IS EXCLUSIVE....never used to send mail to anyone AT ALL, not posted to another website....anywhere AT ALL.

Might I suggest ....some rendo staff behind those avatars?

I believe there is an issue..... maybe some web bots crawing over the site or something...I don't know.

I know that it happens because I know I have not shared that address with anyone.
I know that it happens because if I change the address in my profile at some point I will start to receive spam to that address.
I know I dont have viruses/adware/trojans in my computer.
I have sent copies of the message headers to the Rendo admin.

I need to clarify one point if I can....and maybe some confusion

The spam does not originate from Rosity in my case, but the address I set for mail seems to have been lifted and added to some list that is passed on to spammers.....and that it has happened several times.

Is there some way someone has got access to the email address database?

thank you for the prompt reply. These messages are addressed to me, not from me. I am aware of "Spoofed Email" and how it works.

My concern is that the mail is addressed to me directly, and, if I change my address at rosity it will only be a matter of time before I get mail addressed to my new address.

I have emailed the admin contact address and given headers for messages received over the weekend to assist.

I'll wait for their response.

What was the solution... I've just posed a thread about my email address being lifted at least twice and used for spam.

And I'm less than impressed that this happens at your site!
