Thread: A revelation in importing Poser animations to Bryce | Forum: Bryce
umm... hate to say it mate, but what you're talking about with your tutorial is basically doing what stop motion animators did BEFORE tha davent of computers the point of those programs is to make it so YOU don't have to frame by frame animate, you simply make the PZ3 file, and the Br5 file, and tell the other program to "meld" them, and it does all te rendering, combines lighting, everything, in ONE file the way you want to do it is step by step frame by frame manual capture in bryce, save it, and move to something like say photoshop 6.0 to get a final product of an animated .gif file...20 seconds at 30 fps takes me 3 hours, and that's AFTER the bryce file containing the poser-exported .obj's has been saved as a BMP series...that's just converting the series to an animated.gif...and I shortcut and macro EVERY part of creating the .gif except doing the layer overlay...so I'm probably going to be faster than about 80% of the people out there using your method...to get a .gif...not even a file that can be saved to DVD, VCD, or any streaming media format, OR have sound effects added...what kind of animation doesn't have an integral soundtrack!?!? anyhow...as someone who's working HARD on using these two programs to create his own animated movie, trust me, the automated way is easier, and faster... one thing I AM working on, on the side, as a student programmer...you might be glad to hear about...I am trying to get a professor's help in designing a plugin for bryce, which, if I succeed, I will offer as freeware, or shareware, for a while, while betaing it (assuming I'm legal in doing so ::) that will accept .pz3 matrices, convert them to .br5 matrices, recall texture settings and locations, and "merge" them with your bryce scene (as long as frame rates are equal, and there are enough frames in the scene you've created to contain the animation you're moving in) anyhow, wish me luck on this project :)

I haven't been a graphics nut that long...I used to be into comps mostly for sound and utilities(real computers, like post 486 on up...) anyhow... started on a Commedore 64...used to drive mom nuts with "call sound" command...making it play the theme from ET and StarWars kept that until we bout a TRS-80 (lovely POS system) when THAT died (took WAY too long) we bout a 386DX by Tandy I dissappeared from Techie sociey for four years (aka, Army enlistment) Got out, and bout a lovely P90 powered storebuilt Threw that away with the advent of the PII233, and boosted to 256 meg RAM (started liking graphics about here...and discovered the bane of ALL persons with limited time...online gaming) rode that POS until two years ago, where I bought a pre-built compaq5200US...and have steadily built on that, while buying my wife her own system, and pushing it, too. Current-a pair of Tim (The Tool Man) Taylor originals: A 200MHz FSB MB pushed by a duron800 oc'd to 1.2 gig, with G3ti500, 1024 SDRAM, and 160 gigs HD space is one...the other's an Athelon T-bird on an Asus board, with a gig of DDRAM, G3ti200, with 60 gigs HD, both with 19" monitors... I'm MUCH better, now! (but I still bitch about rendering time anytime I go to save any animations longer than 10 seconds running time at 30 fps, if I don't keep its render size 320X320 or below) Future goal (if I can stop buying 3D animating and designing programs and add-ons long enough): Multi-proc towers rigged in a small network, each running a gig of RAM per proc, rigged for resource sharing (3 towers total..one for kids/server/hardware firewall usages), I'm satisfied with my graphics cards...but I'd like to add some better monitors, too, upgrade my sound cards in the new machines, switch over to 266MHz FSB procs and MB's across the line. Unfortunately for me, I'm a die-hard PC fan...I say unfortunately, because they don't seem to be budging from the 32 bit cycling, and I played on a MAC that had Poser on it the other day....that 128 bit processing makes a HUGE difference in render speeds!
Thread: Question about Vue and Poser....... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
hmm...aleks...would the hacking of veritces and save as .obj trick work for saved bryce landscapes, too? and would it allow the material prestes attatched to the surfaces to remain attatched, or is there a way to "crack" a bryce file in notepad, and save it in an importable-to-poser format that would save my bryce textures and such? The main reason I ask is as of yet, I'm too freakin broke to purchase 3DStudioMax, VUE, or any "landscape" programs that export or save in formats poser can import...especially since I keep spending my money on new poser stuff! (the more I look around, the more I find there is to buy for poser, and I HAVE to have it!). I got Poser originally because a friend of mine led me to it when I was bitching about needing living figures for my Bryce landscapes...the ignorant fool thought I'd be able to pull the animations from poser right into Bryce...well, I haven't found a plugin to allow me to import a 3-D animated figure into bryce YET, just .avi, .obj (frozen matrix), and the like ::grumps about know-nothing friends:: so anyhow...if you can point the way to work with what I've got...well, I'll figure it out from there, mate ;)
Thread: import program? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
VISE does just that for you...but the problem is this...unless the (presumably brillant artist) idiot who designed and packaged the stuff is smart enough computerwise, he just set it up to go where HE put it...and doesn't know how to program a search function to look for where YOUR "runtime" is, to install correctly :( anyhow...best bet is the following...go ahead and extract EVERYTHING that doesn't automatically go to the default folders (metacreationsposer4runtimewhatever) into c:program filesmetacreationsposer4...that way, all you have to do to correct it is cut or copy the runtime from the C:program files... and paste it to where your REAL runtime is once in a while, and it doesn't overwrite, it just adds the new files in the places they were originally told to extract to (which should be correct, unless you're working with...ummm..."less than legal"...copies packaged by brain dead idiots...in which case...well, the arabs have a nice prayer for you... "may the fleas of a thousand camels nest in your spouse's body hair") Good luck, mate :)

ROFL...well...my little brother swaers you can find all sorts of armor on Kazaa...aside from that, I dunno, as armor's pretty tought to make and conform...not many folks gonns do it free... BTW...I wouldn't touch the kazaa stuff, if I were you...not if you expect folks to honor copyright on yours, nehow ;)
