A popular program in Japan is Pepakura Designer. It can input obj, 3ds, dxf, and lwo files and a few other types. There's a limit to the number of faces it can handle and only works with fairly simple models (at least this was true a few years ago the last time I tried it).Thread: OT - Star Trek Replicator or Reality?......."Reality"!! | Forum: Bryce

MicroDEM will convert most formats to USGS ASCII DEM, the type that Bryce likes. It's a freeware Windows program. Saves thumbnails as well.Thread: Help Cant find any 3D Models of Retro Computers | Forum: Bryce

More Do-It-Yourself equipment here .....Their milling machines start at about $600. And the SensAble modeling arms sure look like fun.

MicroDEM (Windoze only)  is a little (and free) program that will read most types of DEM files and will also convert them to OBJ or DXF files. It doesn't have a very pretty interface, but it works well.Thread: Getting Bryce to take my DAZ xfrog sampler obps?! Help! | Forum: Bryce
Weird .... the xfrog samplers work fine for me (Bryce 5.0 + 5.5 on WinXP). Could you go into more detail on how you tried to import the OBPs?? Little triangle next to CREATE at the top of Bryce, and then IMPORT into your chosen library? Just placing them in the Bryce directory won't make them show up in the program. Take deep breaths. Think CALM thoughts. - Uncle Mikey

Thanks, folks. Glad you enjoyed my picture. Been working on it on + off for about four months. Wouldn't have known it was in the H20 without looking in here. Now if I could just finish a few more of the 347 or so I've begun lately ......

A good reference book I've found is "The Artist's Complete Guide to Facial Expressions" by Gary Faigin. Explains the muscle groups involved in each basic expression, how they're attached to the skull, how their shapes change, etc.
