I stumbled to this post when I was looking for a hints to cover a dog into white fur. I'm new to texturising stuff, and when I tried it on the dog the results werent all that stunning;) If I was to use a piece of texture fur, say something like posted by Cyhiraeth above, how can I make it look more realistic, ie. to fit the animal? Should I resize the texture or do something else with it to make the animal look less flat and more hairy? I would've posted a picture here but I'm stick with using GPRS-modem at home -which is terribly slow but somewhat efficient

why not asking the best render;) who cares about the time rendering takes if the quality can not be rated as 'perfect'. poser has 'ok' render, bryce, maya and 3dmax are 'yay'. adobe after effects?

i had the same prob 12hrs ago and still have if this thing i'm doing fails. poser is exporting a 150 frames animation at this very moment (which turned out to be 650kbs. not sure if its too big for an average net user) here's what i noticed: keep number of colors low, 4 colors does 'flash-looking' animations, adding colors to five or more makes the animation surprisingly big. but the most important thing is lighting and shadows. flash would look so much better, imho, if you just could toggle all lights off and turn on a flat white with no shadows. lots of lights and shadows makes the animation look pixelated. turning on overlapped colors makes skin look slightly more normal instead of gray. outlines make the animation more cartoon-style, which can be either good or bad. so check lights, number of colors and possibly a way to reduce frames and size of the animation. i think poser cant pack the size of .swf as much as swish3d or flashmx. check www.kokokuva.com/images/peter.swf for a small (350kb, not that small in size though)spider-flash i did just to test the flash exporting. its in four colors with one global light and one spot from the right of peter parker. on main page is another animation, this one is 673kb which i think is too large for me. if you find a way to prevent the animation being looped, let me know -not that familiar with it myself:)Thread: Poser goes flash with sound? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"well, you could just export from poser as a photoshop or whatever. Make it a quicktime movie, or series of images. Then just add them to flash. Then just add the sound in flash. It really isnt hard." tried that but the result was over 1meg of size -slightly too big to be placed in net. i exported the same as straight flash, it was 400kb but it wasnt that glamorous looking. tuning lights appears to essential in flash animation. i tweaked lights as 360degrees flat with couple of spots and voila! there he was jumping from roof to another. i making a quick animation to my homepage with this style. i post the adress for the jury to judge when i get it uploaded
Thread: What system do you use? | Forum: Bryce
just a quick post here. i'm currently editing and 3D-ing with asus a7n8x deluxe amd2200+ 2g 400mhz dual-ddr and 150gb 7200rpm hd radeon 9000 pro not sure about the effiency with 3d, but when it comes to editing, mobo and ram are the keywords. underestimating the meaning of motherboard is not recommended (how fast it delivers stuff from A to B is essential. IMHO, a7n8x doesnt have any bottle-necks in it-that i'm aware of yet) when rendering, one simply cant have enough powerful computer:)
Thread: Xporting Bryce 5 object to poser | Forum: Bryce
no dear miika, its not possible to export meatballs from bryce, as it renders itself. maybe you/i should read some posts before going asking?:) can anyone recommend me an easy-to-use, free/shareware/trial program that is easy to use for a small object-creating) all i need from the program that it would understand cubes and cylinders and booleans like in bryce. all recommends are welcome, miika
