I'm not offended by nudity in images, but I do often find it... well... just kind of embarrassing. Lots of people (including everyone at DAZ) have an immature image of women, and they flaunt it like it's something to be proud of. News flash: little girls are not women, and women sometimes wear clothes.
Well, at least in thumbnails.
Thread: Using Voodoo for matchmoving with Carrara? | Forum: Carrara
Thanks again, Mike. I was able to import the cloud of points by using the "Save Tracker position as vertices" option in V2C - and the camera motion was completely different when I did that as well. But I still have a lot of trouble getting my objects positioned. I really hope the next version of Carrara will support a more widely available match moving format, so I don't have to do this finagling.
Anyway, back to finagling.

I didn't see any tracking points when I did this... unless I have an incorrect idea of what a tracking point is. I just got a camera with lots of keyframes. Are tracking points some sort of objects or vertices in the scene? Did you do something special to make them appear?

Thanks for your advice, Mike. I did steps 1-4, but that's where I sort of got stuck. When my camera moves, my object kind of tracks the image, but it's sometimes wildly off, probably because it's much closer or further in motion-tracked space than it should be. But I had a hard time trying to place the objects in the 3D space. Is it supposed to be possible import a cloud of points or something to act as a reference?
Plus, my imported camera is pointed downward, which makes it that much harder to imagine how to place objects (Is it possible to rotate the camera to a normal position for hundreds of frames?
In the meantime I tried Icarus, which has a nice set of motion tracking features too. But the V2C utility can't open the .ma files created by Icarus. So another obstacle.
I wish Eovia still existed. I could ask them.
Thread: Tips on getting depth of field to work... at all? | Forum: Carrara
Thanks, Mark. The tip about closing and re-opening the DOF dialog is helpful - at least I know I'm not crazy to think it's not working right.
Thread: Carrara unstable - any suggestions? | Forum: Carrara
My suggestion is to ask Daz to troubleshoot it for you. You've paid them, not the other way around.
Thread: Carrara 6 wish list ? | Forum: Carrara
Why "not be owned by Daz"?
Because I want to be able to check for new releases without worrying that someone else can see my screen.
Because I find borderline pedophilic pinups distasteful.
Because Daz Studio has an impossibly awful interface, and I expect nothing more for Carrara.
Because I don't want to belong to a club.

Thanks for the benchmarks, Jasen. I've run the same tests on my old G4 and, well, I'm drooling for a new Mac. :-P

This is great. Now Carrara will have all the tools we need to make big-breasted underage latex-sheathed anime nymphs. And mountains. What else is there? Yeesh.

Maybe Eovia is changing their name to oevio. Or avioe. Or ueueuei. Nah. Probably not ueueuei.
Thread: Camera 'size' question... | Forum: Carrara
The camera is really just a point in space. Since a single point would be hard to see as you're working, Carrara gives you that blue camera object. It's just a proxy, representing that single point in space. When you adjust the size of the camera, you're just adjusting that proxy to make it easier to find in your scene (but not so big it engulfs the other objects). It has no effect on the actual image the camera captures.
