This is a detail. This part shows the driver and commander in a cutaway view during battle. The top photos are from a photoshoot of the model dressed in clothes that approximate what a British soldier wore during that battle. Note the Ace bandages used to look like British uniform leggings. The bottom is the nearly-finished piece.

Thanks everybody. I did have a problem doing it that may not be apparent in the you tube video. After mapping an image onto a square plane and adding an alpha channel which was pure black and white, I still saw a very light gray color wher the image was supposed to be transparent. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I am also interested where the info came from. I went to the DAZ site but didn't see anything. Maybe I overlooked it. MartinW, could you post a link?

Hey Mike, I did some animation like this in Carrara a couple of years ago. You can see it in the multimedia section of my website: www.zavalastudio.com. If I still have the original file I could send it your way if that would be helpful.

Great job Mike. Your work just gets better and better. Any chance we could see some behind the scenes screen captures? And maybe you could share your thoughts on the experience of the process?

Hey Mark Great work as always. you are the Carrara master. It's weird that you decided to do an animation of the shuttle, I did some of those myself last year. If you get a chance, take a look at them. All done in Carrara with a little modeling help from Hex. http://www.ocregister.com/multimedia/shuttle/ www.zavalastudio.com
Thread: How to paint in Hex 2? | Forum: Carrara
Thanks Dennis445, I tried what you showed above and got to paint on the cube for about a minute using my mouse. When I switched over to my Wacom tablet something changed. Instead of applying strokes to the surface, the brush would act as a paintbucket tool and fill the whole cube. Thanks BWTR, I've gone to Eovia3d.net, Hexablog and the Hexagon yahoo group and did searches for paint and come up with very little. There are plenty of tutorials on modeling but nothing I could find on setting up models to paint. Dennis445's 2 screen grabs were more helpful. To nomuse: So do you think it's a bug?

hey marcfx, I was confused about the availability of a Mac version too, so I called them. It's just a typo. The Mac version is available.

"In the end the software won't be worth anything because it was more or less given away." So is this where we are? The worth of any given software relates directly to the price tag put on it? I know that this is a prevelant attitude. Maybe it is an attitude that needs to be re-examined.

And oh yeah, When Metacreations owned it, it had symmetrical modeling, which they took out in version 1.1.
