Thread: Short question concerning Poser 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
**Thank you Svdl!! That's great news!! It will be a long time before I reach 30 gigs, but I'm certainly enjoying every minute of Poser and Renderosity!!
Thanks again for the speedy reply! I just received my first cd from the Market today and want to open and install everything right NOW! LOL

To be perfectly clear - it's not that I'm complaining about someone giving a low rating - that is their perogative. It's giving a low (er) rating after giving a glowing comment that's at issue.I just wonder how difficult it would be to program in a viewers rating along with their comment,
- Rick
**I think this would be like saying, "Put your money where your mouth is", Rick and I think it's an excellent idea. If it's not implemented, or at least considered by the Renderosity powers that be, then I'm tempted to turn off my ratings as well.
I know who the person Cully (ccbig) is referring to, since this same guy ZAPS me, almost everytime he enters my gallery. He did it again, very recently. I had 4 comments with a rating of 4.750. Mathmatically and without taking any genius level IQ to figure it, I received 2-5's and 2-4's. This guy compliments my render and says, great work! and then my rating dropped to a 4.000. Meaning, he gave me a TWO rating. He never comments on my images, unless he can be in the first five commenters. Yesterday, he zapped another friend of mine with a ONE rating after being very complimentary. I've been watching him for several weeks, too.
I just hate liars and deceivers...deep breath Ok...I'm going back to bed, since I've been ill for the last few days and only stay online for less than an hour to upload and to comment on a few friends galleries and I'm already worn out.
Have a Happy Valentine's Day,

Quote - Shucks...I remember the first Elvis song.
And yes, I did see the Ed Sullivan show that wouldn't show Elvis from the waist down....
That makes me older than dirt doesn't it?? lol
**Older than dirt?? lol Not a bit, Annie. I'd say it puts you in great company!! ;o)
I've got original records (not vinyls, but heavy, breakable glass type, 78rpm, Victor and Decca) of Al Jolson and Eddie Cantor from the 1920's. Of course they were given to me by my deceased grandmother, but I still know who they were and the kids today, just have no clue!
Sadly, when we're all gone, I'm afraid much of our heritage will be lost with us. I don't know what my son might do with 80+ year old treasures that may be over 100 years by the time he gets them. I'd love for them to be preserved within the family, but I'll have no say, when I'm six feet under. :o(**

I remember 10 cent a gallon gas wars...loaves of bread for 15 cents a loaf, a carton of cigarettes for $!.00 (name brands, no such thing as generic back then). Let's see. Hmmm. My family had a game when traveling of being the first one to call out the name of oncoming cars....Year., make and model (I could recognize them all, be they Dodge, Oldsmobile, Chevy, Ford, Studebaker, DeSoto or whatever...nothing foreign was ever seen).
My Dad would never think twice about picking up a military hitchhiker and if you ever broke down on the highway, you could be assured that a friendly trucker would stop and help you within 10 minutes.
We enjoyed trick or treating and never once had to worry about our candy, popcorn balls or apples being dangerous. I remember Katy Keene and Archie comics and playing with paper dolls. Dressing up with my mom's old clothes and falling down while trying to walk in her high heels at the age of four. (We wore silky gloves and hats to church and Easter was my fav holiday because my older sister and I got new outfits then, no hand-me-downs),
I remember the Spic and Span commercials during the breaks on Search For Tomorrow, my mom's favorite soap opera. Charlie Chan and Flash Gordon after school on TV. I remember my dad playing for hours with the first color TV, changing Bonanza's fire from blue to green, just for kicks.
I remember my mom drinking nickle cups of coffee, with as many refills as she could handle, my dad's haircuts were 50 cents a week (buzz cut). I remember D.A.'s (duck's a$$) and penny loafers, and saddle oxfords. I remember finally being old enough for seamed stockings and garter belts--what a wonderful feel on the legs back then..super sheer and silky. Not a rough, mesh pantyhose back then. I remember horse hair petticoats (at least two worn to make our skirts stand out properly. I remember wearing a moistened blue colored pencil as eye shadow and back-combing my hair to the ceiling, but we called it ratting and teaseing.
I remember sock-hops and the makeout pits and cherry stealing in the summer. I remember water balloon fights and snowball forts and being in love with Hoppalong Cassidy because he had a white horse named Topper and was featured on our milk bottles that were delivered to our door every morning. I remember Doctor's making house calls and my dad helping me build a birdhouse, while I was home from school with the chickenpocks. I remember my dad teaching me to shoot his guns at the age of five, loved them ever since. Grandpa letting me drive the old pickup through the orchard at 10, while he loaded the back end with boxes of apples. I remember bell bottom pants and my first pair of stirruped stretch pants and my first two piece bathing suit. I remember rolling up the waistband of my skirts, to make them shorter and then much later, just after high school graduation, pantyhose and miniskirts hit our little hick town.
Gads...I think I'm gonna cry. I miss the good old days!! Thanks for letting me stroll down memory lane. Wow...the stroll, the twist, the jerk, the bump and good old American Bandstand!! How about Texas John Slaughter, Cheyenne, Sugarfoot and Huckleberry Hound...Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy, Woody Woodpecker... and my fav...Foghorn Leghorn.
I could go on for hours...but I have a new image to make for tomorrow,. so I'll say adios to all and good night Gracie.or Mrs. Calabash, whereever you are.

Quote - Hi there,
I received a response back that while they investigate into whether the amount of bandwisth was accidently calculated back to the original upload date, they have reset the allotment for the month.
Downloads should now be available from Apollo's page.
running over to DivShare
THANK YOU, Anton!! You're a dream come true!! Hugzz.

I do really like DicShare. It is nice and easy. I appreciate offers though. Let's see what happens.Anyway.
I'll keep you posted.
**Thank you very much for keeping us up to date, Anton. I can hardly wait to begin posing Apollo. I've read from many members about how fantastic and unique he is and I'm anxious to try him out.
Thanks again,

Quote - "Usernames can be so misleading or identity masking,..." Yeah, there are more than a few who say they are female, pick a female avatar and name, but I strongly suspect otherwise. Hey Connie, I left a comment . YOU are definately a female. ;)
You're very right, Elfwine. I've been "surprised" many times over the last 12+ years on the net. Maybe this is why I rarely let gender, age, country of origin or anything else interfer with budding friendships. It's simply NOT IMPORTANT to me anymore...We're all humans first, with hearts and souls and feelings. Everything else, pales in comparison.
But if you have doubts about my gender and it really bothers you, just site mail "ccbigs". Cully was kind enough to befriend me first, on Renderosity when no one else would take a forward step to greet a newcomer AND was trusting enough to give me his home phone number. I blew my tight monthly budget and called halfway across the United States to talk to him for over EIGHT hours one night. We had a wonderful visit and even though we may be on opposing political sides, we hit it off great .
Cully is a SUPER guy and a very good friend to all, here at Renderosity! He'll confirm that I'm definately female. Maybe a bit of a nut at times (my sense of humor was appreciated and fully accepted), but all woman and absolutely NO THREAT to anyone here.
I joined Renderosity to share my love of art and to learn a new software program (Poser). I enjoy making new friends everywhere I go. I have no ulterior motives in reaching out to others nor any desire in joining any immature gender wars.
Have a good day, one and all.

Quote - I'd enter it, just to add images. I don't have any delusional thoughts of actually having a chance to win any contests  But I'd enter it to be supportive.
I'll be soming out with a marketplace product for Apollo soon, am elaborate wizard robe. I could offer a copy of it for an award. Maybe some other merchants whom make stuff for males could do similar?
~~That's a great idea, Connie! Hugzz! I can't wait to see your wizard robe!!
~~To Elfwine, I had no idea about the gender ratio at Renderosity. Usernames can be so misleading or identity masking, that I've not given it much thought as to which gender outnumbers the other. We are artists, for art's sake. lol But thanks for the heads up. I'll still create what I enjoy, regardless of who appreciates it. I feel it's their loss...like the person who sleeps all day long, misses seeing the beauty of the rising sun....the frantic person who rushes everywhere, forgets to smell the roses blooming....etc, etc, etc. lol
Have a great one,
Robin

Thanks for the kind update, Anton and also a huge thanks for providing Apollo to all of us starving artists! lol'
I was caught in the fallout by the DivShare server this morning. Conniekat had directed me to your site last night and I was anxiously downloading (on a slow dialup) when I got knocked off....twice. When I tried to resume the file for the third time, a message popped up that bandwidth had been exceeded and to try back later. I thought I'd wait until after Feb 1st and then try again, but I'll be watching this thread for an earlier time.
A Million thanks. You are our HERO!!

Thread: Why the lack of contests? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I have not run a contest but I would be willing to try if I could have help from other artists. I think it would also be important to have help from Rendo itself in the form of links and promotion. I don't know where to begin but I am motivated to get the ball rolling!
Hey Cully....great minds think alike. I just posted on a different thread about wanting to see a contest for all artists...to help create more handsome male faces/heads to sell in the marketplace.
It's at the bottom of this thread... http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2727937
I'll help you if we promote a contest for handsome hunk characters to be created for sale...(you know I'd help you anyway, even for a different sort of contest...but give it some thought. ) LOL

Thanks for the link, Connie...This is what I said in my comments...
"Excellent image! I've never had a problem with the naked male bodies I've seen so far...the problem for me is trying to find or "create" a truly handsome face to go along with the rest of them. Most male faces look like a sad joke to me. It's difficult to pair a current Poser male up with a strikingly beautiful V3 or V4 female. The combination is just too ridiculous for me.
If anyone can come up with gorgeous heads/faces for James, Michael and/or David, I'd buy in a heartbeat. I'd love a Richard Gere, Keanu Reeves, young Mel Gibson, Kurt Russell, and/or Brad Pitt, look-a-like.
Or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places. If you know of real hunk characters in some marketplace on the net, please send me a site mail.
In the meantime...5+++ for a great body, Connie.
And I'm very serious...why has so much time, effort and love gone into creating the gorgeous women while the men are lagging so far behind?? We have such fantastic artists here at Renderosity. How about putting that great talent to work? I think we need a CONTEST to create some worthwhile HUNKS for us gals to render!!
How about that? A CONTEST to liven up our marketplace!! Only requirement is that ALL entries must be completely renderable and for sale to our members..
Who is in agreement with me? raising two hands in the air
