Thanks for the tip. I am leaving V4 alone for awhile so I can concentrate on my Jedi and what I need to get my trailor made. I started work today on the fight between her and Darth Vengeance; the animation is all me, frame by frame. No BVH, no mocap, no premade animations. I hope to have something to show in a couple weeks.

My only issue with the freebie section is that it takes too long to wade through that stuff to find what you want. The only thing I really want right now is hair. I really don't like the base figure's hair, and I only found one free hair prop that isn't really all to my liking either.

Yeah, expression morphs are included in the base figure. I am not sure what the morph++ is for, but a lot of things I really wanted stated that you need it for them to work. Kind of urked me, but then what can I do? Like you stated, make my own character. Which I am going to do eventually. I have a 24 part tut on how to do it in Blender. That is the thing I will be working on when I get back to sea.

I upgraded from P6 and found switching between runtimes a lot quicker, though you do get a slow period at the start- I've got about 1100 folders and it seems to read them at 2 or 3 per second.

 

 

I get the same results. I don't have nearly as much as you do, but they read about 4 per second when loading.

You don't have to double click the mouse to see what is in the folders. They expand on one click. Double click installs into the scene.

Thanks! I feel like a dummy. I should have known that, I guess. But I am only about 2 months into getting serious about Poser now, so I guess I have to give myself time to grow and hopefully learn something along the way.

I will be going back to sea very soon. Nights of uninterupted practice time. I'll be working on lights and other things in Poser, and a little bit each night, I'll try something out in Blender.

I got V4 for right now, and I guess I am spoiled to Poser characters because I really don't like the base model. And as I stated before, I can't purchase anything right now, so getting the morph++ for her is out of the question until around August or September. So I may keep her and the small things I downloaded for her (wasn't much, a lot of things needed the morph++, so.....)

Although I did find bionic rooster's robe for V4. I just don't know where to put the UV file... That's kind of important. And embarassing.

And I guess I better go read that "Most asked questions" thread because I believe it covers how to load V4 into Poser. Thanks for the responses.

Thanks for the tip. But I can't buy anything right now, so I would have to stick to free stuff.

My bad. I went and took another look it's only kissing poses...

I poked around on the site yesterday. Renderotica does have a kissing bvh in their freebees section. I believe it said it was for V4, M4. Almost all the freebies on that site are for V4 and M4. Doesn't anyone use the other models?

I figured that one out after attempting a few renderings with settings people say they used on here. That's when I figured out that I didn't want to wait for 3 days just to see that I made a  mistake in the pose, or there was some poke through I didn't notice because of this or that.

So basically, I render everything with the default settings first, then play around with bringing up the render settings until I get what I am after. So far, the only thing that has been hurting me is lighting. I need to experiment with it more.

I am not sure what you are doing wrong... I don't have any problems with using dynamic cloth. My only real problem is I wasn't sure how to animate it. After a few passes in the cloth room, I have it down. Now I just need to get my head around lighting, and try to find bagginsbill's rendering settings...

I want a high quality render, but I don't want to spend 3 days waiting for it. Especially since I am using a laptop and not my home pc for this stuff.
