Not sure why but very few 3d programs will run on Surface Pro ???
I think its something to do with the HD .
The only ones I have got running off my 128gb HD is Carara 8 Pro and 3d coat ,
Hexagon , Silo , Winds 3d , Sculptis, Modo , Poser , Vue ect will not run of the surface pro HD
But I did get poser to run on Surface pro by having it installed on an external HD .
I dont use any of these programs on my surface lol I was just testing what Surface Pro could handle lol
I have other Desktop I7 pcs and a Asus ET2300 AIO for doing serious work :)
Oh I also have the Sony Vaio 20" Tablet PC which has the same specs as Surface pro but has a 500gb HD and ALL the above programs work fine on it .
So there is some thing about the surface pro HD these programs dont like .
Not sure if the Surface Pro 128gb HD is a flash drive or a SSD HD?
All the device manager states is that it is a Samsung MZMPC128HBFU .
I love windows Tablets , I have Both the RT and Pro but both have there limitations

well I just watched your preview of reality 3
and I a very impressed with what I see ,
I have Reality 1 for Daz studio but because I dont really like Daz studio I didnt upgrade to reality2
But I am very pleased to see Reality 3 for Poser .
I cant wait to buy and use it :)

Like in older Posers too: Select the light, and in the properties tab of the properties window, click on the name and change it.

How did i miss that lol .
there must be a bug in the Hierarchy editor because once you change the name in the properties tab and goto the hierarchy editor and click to edit the new name it puts you into a infinite cycle of errors lol
but happy the properties panel works :) so i will just stay away from the Hierarchy editor with lights .

How do you rename lights in Poser 8 ?
whenever I try to rename a light in the Hierarchy editor I get a message stating :
"This character combination is not allowed as an object name"
any ideas?

ive been playing with metals in Reality for a hour and there is noway to get a metal like that using Reality's settings :(

Choosing a Poser material will still involve a conversion, but it will not apply to rendering in Poser. Choosing a Lux material will not involve a conversion. It will use the Lux material preset. You will be able to use presets that we make using LuxPose, or you can get them from the Lux material library.
Having chosen a material from the library, you will be offered the chance to alter the parameters,Ā just like poking around in the material room, but you won't be dealing with nodes. You'll just have a nice GUI full of sliders and color pickers and checkboxes and such.
You will be able to save these back as new presets.
You will be able to save these choices in the scene or just try them out.
You will be able to save multiple materials as LuxPose material collections, so that you can re-use them later. Unlike Poser material collections, these can be used across multiple props.

well when it comed to metals it replaces all metals with Lux gold , which you can then change to silver , copper or aluminium and you can tweak those metals to get other metals .
But its alot of mucking around to tweak those metals with such a small materials preview window , its really hard to see how much they change while tweaking :(
after reality has loaded the metals (all as gold) you can change the material to use the original image file instead but it only seams to work if you use a Mat option , using a gloss option the original image comes out as silver .
For example in a scene I have a rusty pipe using a jpg image and Lux converts it to gold .
I can get the original image to render by forcing reality to use the jpg image but only as a mat not as a gloss .
I have no idea why it dosnt work with gloss lol

In the reality thread I read that reality converts Daz materials to Lux materials ,
But I dont think that is completely true as it stands .
Sure it maybe converting to Lux materials but theyĀ do not look like the Daz materials.
(atleast with metals)
if Ioad a scene with buildings and those buildingĀ have metal drain pipes ,metalĀ ladders ,Ā metal manholes ect ect I dont think they should all come into Lux all Gold ?
they werent gold in Daz studio and they should not be gold in Lux .
Sure Im not a programmer , so those things are beyond me but I expect a paid for plugin to work correctly .
atleast Daz has the 30 money back thing :)

Ive been watching the Luxpose thread here and the reality thread at daz ,
Ive had a play with Luxpose alpha and I also decided to buy reality just to try it .
Now I actually Hate daz studio , I use Poser and Carrara :)
To use Reality I have to upgrade to the latest Daz version which broke the cloth plugin lol
That why I hate Daz , new updates always break something that was working :(
and Poser/Carrara are so much easier to use and both Have good render engines :)
Sorry got a bit side tracked there lol
Back to my point , Luxpose is no slower exporting than Reality , as far as I can tell .
But my big disappointment with Reality , that Most Materials are exported with a very high gloss setting ? skin , wood , concrete ect ect all gloss ?
ALL Metals are exported Gold ??
SO you have to spend alot of time adjusting ALL materials ,
when you change the imported Gold metals you only have a choice of gold , silver ,aluminiun and copper :(
IMO for a paid for plugin it really seams unfinished and uncomplete .
Sure it works well and has a nice GUIĀ but its not "With a click of the mouse you can render your scene with Lux" as adertised .
I cant wait for the Luxpose version to be finished ,
for what I can see so far it will be alot better :)

Both my profile and shopping cart have Australia listed as the country ,
This "pending" amount that put on my credit card , Will if affect the amount of money available to be used on my credit card ?
And how long before this "pending" amount is removed ?
I am having no problems with this credit card on Daz and other online stores , so it must be a Rendo shopping cart issue ?
