Quote - OK, here another "wild" shot.
Do you have a light set to raytrace shadows? AND is there a dynamic hair in the scene?
Unfortunately this combination leads to Poser "hangs" at the end of the render.
I do use raytrace shadows quite a bit but I have never used a dynamic hair before. Almost all of the times Poser will lock my system up before it gets to the render pass, about 2/3 of the time it will happen before it gets to the render pass.
Thread: Poser Pro 2014 locks up computer when I render in main window | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My threads are set at 8 by default, and I have updated all of drivers and have the newest SR3 update. I haven't had this many issues with Poser since Poser 8. I kind of wish I hadn't deleted my copy of Poser Pro 2012 when I was cleaning out my hard drive.

Quote - Bit of a fishing trip, have you..
Checked the event logs to see what (if any) error messages are displayed
Run dxdiag and clicked on each to screen (No problem found should be displayed in Notes)
Configured Poser to use only one thread for Rendering (incase this is a problem with your CPU)
If your PC comes with any stress software have you ran this since the problem started. This should go through all your components and memory.
Revert you video driver to the version running before the problem started.
One thought is trying to reproduce the problem in safe mode but I don't know if there are any risks in doing so. The reason to do this is it removes all third party drivers from your OS in one easy step - done at your own risk, I not saying you can/should do this but its an idea to consider.
OK this may sound wierd but where do I find the events log and the dxdiag. I have PC mechanic and have run checks on all the systems so not sure if that is the same. I will change from 8 to a single thread to see what happens.
I have had 3 or 4 updates since this started so to be sure the only option I have is to take it back to the factory new settings that came whenthe laptop was new. I haven't tried to run it in safe mode yet I guess I could always give that a try.

Quote - > Quote - Prior to this starting I could start Poser and do something else in Photoshop or surf the web but I haven't tried to start Poser rendering and then not touch anything at all that is just crazy to not be able to do something else while Poser is rendering.
See if you get the same issues when you don't do anything else while Poser is rendering.
The reason I say this is not to be a solution but to have an idea if this is caused by using other programs while rendering or if this is something else.
I have had similar experiences where Poser appears to freeze for a bit an at the top of it a message saying "not responding" pops up. When I see that message come up then I stop doing what I was doing for bit so that the computer can sort itself out. It's usually like a 5 or 10 second pause and I can only assume that what I was doing at the time of rendering cause a conflict somewhere. It doesn't happen often but when it does I just take a small break. However I don't get this issue when I tell Poser to render in the background.
I was thinking that this may be the case with what is happening with you, but you really won't know unless you let Poser render without doing anything else on the computer. If it still hangs when you don't do anything then you can be 90% sure that it's not because you were using another software.
OK I know what you are refering to and I get that from time to time as well. It is not that, this actually causes poser and every other program running at the time to lock up and starts to flash on the screen every 10 to 15 seconds and causes my CPU to max out locking up my whole system.

Quote - Do you have any other programs running at the same time?
Have you tried to use to option to render the program in the background?
Are you clicking on something else while Poser is trying to render?
It happens both ways. When programs are running in the back ground and when I run just poser and nothng else. Am I clicking on something in Poser or somewhere else, not sure what you mean by the last question. Prior to this starting I could start Poser and do something else in Photoshop or surf the web but I haven't tried to start Poser rendering and then not touch anything at all that is just crazy to not be able to do something else while Poser is rendering.

Quote - > Quote - > Quote - Do you have render as a separate process checked in your preferences?
Not sure if I do or not since I am not on my personal computer at the moment, do you know if this is the default setting? If so then I do as I haven't changed any of those settings.
No. It is not the default setting. You have to go in and check the "Separate Process" box located under Edit>General Preferences>Render.
OK I have checked it now but I wil have to wait until tomorrow to try it out as it is close to midnight here and I need to get to bed. I will post my render settings and how my test goes tomorrow

Quote - For starters it would be handy if you posted a screengrab of your render settings.
It doesn't matter what the render setting are it does it. I can get two or three renders and then it starts. Every program I have open will begin to flash and then I am forced to do a hard shutdown.
ETA: I will post my render setting when I get to the room I am at work right now so I can't do a screenshot right now.

Quote - Yeah, that's what I thought. Whole body. Okay. Should it be whiter than my demo?
I would go a couple of shades lighter as a start, but to light and she could look kind of ghoulish.

Quote - As far as mat files go: it's very easy to create MAT Pose files from material files if you use a text editor such as Notepad ++ that will make changes across many files at once.
To change an .mc6 to a .pz2 mat pose file, you only need to change {materialcollection} after the version number slot to {figure} and then change the file extension.
If you open all your .mc6 that you want to change in Notepad++, and as long as what needs changed has the same text on all (and in this case it will...all material files), you can change all the open files in one shot ;) Just PLEASE make a backup of your .mc6 files first ;).

And to think I use Netherworks MATwriter myself. It really simplifies everything, you can pick the folder it loads to and even creates your thimbnail images for you if you ask it too. ;-P

I will throw my voice in with the V4 to Dawn and M4 to Dawns counter part and having it as a stand alone would be awesome.
