Have you checked out Vue? I use it for network rendering of poser scenes a lot. I have a 5-node render farm that I keep going for all my animation scenes. Almost everything I do is setup in Poser then brought into vue for rendering.
Thread: Deleting Previous Frames (Animation) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One of my big pet-peeves with Poser is the way it handles rendering. Talk about cumbersome and slow! Early on, I learned that I have to save my animations as individual frames because of the render engine crashing. Don't get me wrong, I like Poser and I think it does a lot of things really well, but rendering isn't one of them.
I have been using Vue Pro Studio 6 to render Poser scenes for about a year or so. I have found that Vue handles Poser scenes very well, and I can use other machines to help render. My renderfarm consist of 5 PC's (that is the license limit for the version of Vue that I have), and I have found that not only do I drastically decrease my render times, I have far less technical issues while doing so. Also, the lighting is much better/easier in Vue.
I still set up most of my scenes in Poser, but rendering in Vue has made life easier and improved my productivity. I do not have any experience with Maya or 3DMAX, so I don't know how Vue rendering compares with them, but Vue Pro Studio is significantly cheaper than the other alternative, and there are no plugins that you need to buy to import Poser scenes. Just my $.02.worth.

Check out www.es3d.com - they have a set of motion files for indian and eastern dancing styles. They might have what you need.

Webmaster421, thanks for your kind words. I especially like your comments when I see the quality work you, and the other artists that have posted, have done. You "early" works are so far above what I can do; t gives me something to aspire to! Hopefully my next project will take me leap forward so I can join the ranks of the "Masters"
I also agree that this thread is interesting. I got into 3D as a way to augment the movies I've done, and I got bit by the 3D bug! When I look at some of the old movies I've done, I get positively embarrassed. Probably the same thing will happen with 3D!

Well, I have only been using Poser for a shot (~6 Mo.) timeframe, but I can definatley see imporvement. I don't usually do stils, only animations. However, you can see improvement in each project.
I've done lots of test renders, but here are the four main projects that I've completed in that timeframe. The first three projects were a fun contest at a video editing forum I belone to. These were kind of a "Yo Mama" type of joke (and believe me, the other guy got his digs in too). I learned so much from doing them that I decided to enter a contest, and that is what the last video is.

My Church has actually approaded me about doing an animated Sunday School lesson for Pre-Schoolers, which is the project I'm working on now. If this Pilot episode takes off, I will be doing a 1-year project with them that we will sell to other churches.

Egg on face moment
Thanks for your reply. I thought I had searched the forum, but I went to so many sites looking for this that I might have missed it. Anyway, thanks again for your reply. BTW, I searched the Rendo marketplace, and I never found a reference to paintball. Guess I didn't look hard enough. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks...
I'm DLing the freebe now.

I just received an e-mail from the folks at Eclipse and they have extended their contest. It seems that person taking care of the contest was in a serious car accident, so they have extending their contest submission dates. I haven't checked the web site today, but they sair they would get around to updating it as soon as they could.Thread: Rikishi and Mimic | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey! A question I can actually answer! As long as Rikishi has the probper facial morphs, you can make him Mimic compatable. I had to make Kit mimic compatable for a project I am currently doing, and it really isn't that difficult.
Open Mimic normally and load Rikishi (or any character that has the phoeneme morphs). Load your wav, and make sure the default.dmc configuration file is loaded, then click OK.
Once your all loaded, double click on a phoenom. A new window opens up in which you can define the mouth movements for the phoenom. The problem is that Rishiki most likely has different names for the morph targets.
In the Definition window, click on the Add button, then double-click "Head" from the Object tree.
A new window opens up. Make sure all the ojects on the Definition window match the name in the Objects window. In the case of Kit, they were fairly close but the names differed in little ways, such as a hyphen instead of an underscore. Manually go through all the phoenomes and match thing up. Delete the definitions that do not work. You will also need to do the same thing for the Expressions.
Once you are done, SAVE YOUR FILE. You will be able to reload the file later and not need to make any changes, plus you can share your file with others. I've been meaning to pubish the Kit.dmc so others can benefit, I've just been too lazy...
Good Luck!

What you're talking about is called Motion Blur. An Easy way to produce this is to use a directional blur, found in most paint programs. Simply duplicate your layer, and apply a dirrectional blur filter to the lower layer. Viola! Motion Blur.
If you are talking about doing this to an animation, then you will need to use a program such as Aobe After Effects or Vegas Video, which have motion blurr capabilities.

This also happens to me. It also happens when you apply a hand pose. I do not have a fix for this: I'm stil trying to figure it out myself...
Thread: Serious Poser Help | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have never used Vue, or Terragen, or any of the other "world builder" software packages out there, but I think you can get good results using just Poser. I recently purchased the 3D World Builder kit for Poser, and I am very impressed with it. It is easy to use and very versatle. I put together a quick flyby and upload it later so you can see what I'm talking about.
Based on the images I see in the gallery, this package looks just as good. More to come.

Content Paradise has a DVD tutorial for Poser 6 that is really good. I think it costs $40, but it is worth every penny. I've been using Poser 6 for about 6 month, and I had bought the book Practical Poser when I got Poser. While Practical Poser is an awesome book, nothing beats a video tutorial.
After watching the DVD, I learned some things that I did not know ever after using Practical Poser and working with the program for 6 months. Two Thumbs Up!
