i'm not really impressed, hasn't they said something about a new female figure based on a new unimesh that would come with poser 13 ? i mean, updating the renderer is a nice gimmik but the biggest issue is still the lack of good base characters. LaFemme/Homme aren't really competitive, not even against the old V4/M4. why do they still hold on to it, i can't understand it ...

first you need to create the dependency from the main figure, the rotation you wish it to work from, open the dependency window. Now select the clothing, the body part containing the morph or from the Body if it is a FullBody Morph. Personally I like to add a Master dial for all of my morphs in the Body Group, but that's your choice.at the top of the dependency popup is a dial the controls the rotation you want to attach the morph to, set this to zero. Make sure your morph is set to zero. Now select the teaching button, when the dependency is "learning" use the dial to rotate the Main Figure body group to the desired point. Find your morph dial and set it to ONE. Set the dial in the dependency window to zero THEN set the morph dial in your clothing to zero. Click on the teaching dial to shut off the dependency "learning". Check your morph by rotating the dial in the dependency. If all is good you can close the dependency window.
OMG ... it's working :D
thanks man, that was the order of actions i needed. looks like i thought it the wrong way from the beginning. now i feel stupid because it's so easy.

if i add the value operation to the figures shoulder and adress the morph from the cloth, it does nothing. if i add the value operation to the morph of the clothing i can't address the up-down dial from the figure, it's just not in the list ... only other morphs are available.

sorrily this doesn't do anything ... which version you are using ? my value operations window looks slightly different ...

so for example edit dependency of x rotate and slave the morph to the master rotation. But I think you know this.
yeah i tried this, but only works inside the self figure, means i can slave the clothing morph to the shoulder rotation dial of the clothing ... but not to the shoulder rotation dial of the figure to which it's conformed. it just don't let me do that and if i try to use the value operations the rotaition dials doesn't show up as target. seems not possible the way i want it ... however, would just nice to have ... but since it's just for my personal use anyway, no big thing.
but in case someone shows up who know how to solve this, he may let us share in his wisdom ...

Looks like a value operation add to me. A superconformer. I only know this stuff from afar, I mess with JCMs a bit but not so much with clothing. One would wonder why I wasted the time to post those 2 links above.
problem is i can't connect/address the "bend down" rotation dialer, your links describe how to link morph/master dialers to other morph dialers ... but this doesn't work with the rotation dialers, or at least i can't figure how ...

"copy morphs from" doesn't help because this isn't the issue. i've created an independent morph on the collar/shoulder area of the clothing and this morph is meant to increase it's value when the figures "shoulder" bends down ...
Thread: Dependency Morphs of Conforming Clothing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
that's the problem, i can't set up a dependency between the figures shoulder and the morph value of the conformed clothing. it just don't work, or i don't know how to do it correctly. the teaching only works if i do it inside the same figure and only in one direction, means i can teach the "shoulder bend" parameter of the clothing to control a morph of the clothing, so the source of the dependency is the "shoulder bend" parameter. but i can't set up a dependency that works in the opposite direction from the morph away to anything other ... :

yea Realmling youre right, it is better to group the whole bottom area to the hip. the thigh add to much deformation to the shirt, especiality if the legs are moving. thanks all for the useful hints, save lots of time with try and error. now i'm enlightened ... ;)

** this is exactly what i did ;) i have considered to upload an additional picture to complete the thread, but now you have done it for me :D in comparison to other 3d programs it is a little bit confusing how poser works, but step by step the mystery disappear.

** the group editor "weld group" button doesn't change anything, it is only useful if you want join splitted groups in a new ... as i read in the manual poser split the geometry if you make groups, because its the only way to add bones and deformation.
@**svdl
**
the clothing object consist no elements, it is one single mesh ... (pic)
after some experiments i have decided to make the groups inside of poser.
@all
as you see on the picture the green mark areas make the problems, and now i know why. in an older poser manual i have found the following ... "any two polygon groups that are touching must have a parent-child relationship or tears in the geometry will appear when the model bends in that area"
means abdomen and Thigh groups should never touched each other, chest and Shldr too.

@chriscox
in this case i have the mesh as one piece exportet, without any groups, elements. in poser it looks well until i make groups in the setup room and add the bones, after i leave the setup room the mesh is like on the picture. i have also tried do make the groups in max but the result was the same ...
Quote - @manoloz
This usually happen if in the distribution of the mesh groups there are two (or more) mesh groups that "touch" each other, but the corresponding bones do not.
This happens a lot when using the auto group tool, and it happens with chest and rCollar, lCollar. Or with hip/abdomen with lThigh and rThigh.
i think you are right and this is the main problem, but what can i do to prevent such a result ? or make the chest group always such problems with the boundaries ?
@Realmling
i have tried it in serveral ways, make the groups in max, make it in poser but the gaps don't go away entirely. the group names are too the same like the bones and the clothing group is not to far from the body as well. maybe i make an mistake anywhere but i don't know where, in max i'm a professional and exporting/importing, editing in max isn't the problem, only poser make me insane because i haven't really experience with it ...
