Move the atmosphere and background objects to the top of the figure list in the Material room, instead of at the bottom. They're a bear to get to in a complex scene.

Thread: App that makes the texture 2000 cm at the bottom and 1 cm at the top.but still 2 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If the texture map is still 2000px at the top and 2000px at the bottom, it's still a square texture map. You won't have to edit the image file.
The only thing you have to do is make sure that the UV coordinates of the triangle are correct. In other words, the UV coordinates at left bottom corner of the triangle would be (0,0), right bottom corner (1,0), slightly left of top of triangle (0,1), slightly right of top of triangle (1,1). Then your image map will fit.

There's another option: dynamic cloth hair. JoeBushido has some here in the Rendo store: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/dynamic-cloth-hair-by-joe-bushido/81012
There's a nice Youtube vid on how to use it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9QUHueROg0

It's on Morphography's freestuff:

Seems only the V4 hair proxy is still online, the older stuff (V2 and V3 hair proxies were marketplace items, Jessie's proxy was freestuff too) is gone.

Thread: LOVING the forum improvements! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not too bad on a 24" 1920x1080 screen, but indeed, a lot of wasted margin space. Since the ads to the right hardly reach below the forum header, why not incorporate them with the header? Gives us users a nice wide message width.

1366x768 is a pretty low resolution for Poser. You may want to get an affordable 1920x1080 monitor (at 21.5 inch they should be around € 100), that'll give you dual monitor capabilities and a very nice Poser workspace

Thread: Poser 6 PoserPython: DialogFileChooser() - parentDialog ? | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
Not that surprlising. C++ has overloaded functions, so does Python.

Thread: Poser 6 PoserPython: DialogFileChooser() - parentDialog ? | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
The word "root" in your 2nd example should be the name of a Dialog object. In that script, do you see a line somewhere like "root =poser.Dialog(...)" ?
If not "root" will simply be initialized with a zero value, which means it's the same as #use 0
You can check my P6 SpawnCharacter script in freestuff: I seem to remember to have used the dialog root in that script. It opens a dialog, but some buttons open "sub"dialogs with the root set to the main dialog.

Thread: anyone using Python with Visual Studio? | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
Yeah, this is one of my main gripes about PoserPython. No autocomplete, no syntax highlighting.
It may be possible to write a wrapper using the Poser SDK that e-on is using for Vue, but as far as I know that SDK is not publicly available.

Thread: Make poser play a sound when render is finished? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It's not too hard to write a Python script that does this. But it'll only work when not rendering as a separate process/in the background / in the render queue. So I doubt such a script will be useful.

Thread: Need help with stockings | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You might want to consider dynamic cloth here.
Sounds strange, I know - dynamic cloth shines for loose draping clothes, while conforming is usually better for tight fitting clothing.
Here's what you can do:
The trick to using them is always starting with a zero V4.2 - no morphs, zero pose.
Then add the stockings.
Then move the animation slider to a frame other than 1, say move to 10
Then inject morphs and pose V4.2
Then go to the cloth room, set up a cloth simulation and clothify the stockings. Make them collide with v4.2
Run the simulation, and the stockings will stick like glue to her legs. There will be NO pokethru.

Thread: Help please.. Cloth Room | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I made a tutorial on how to convert conforming clothes to dynamic, several years ago.

Hope this helps.

Thread: How did you start buying content? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It all started with the Poser 4 demo back in 2004. I had a few ideas for an animation I wanted to try.
But since Poser 5 was already announced, I held off buying Poser until it came out. I'm probably one of the first P5 users.
Then I got hooked on dynamic cloth. Started modeling my own and wanted to figure out how others made them. So that was my first Poser content purchase - HMann's dynamic clothing pack for V2, V3 and Judy.
Which lead to buying V2 and V3.
Which lead to buying content, mostly for V3, and later M3 and V4
