Absolutely nothing bad to say about Firefly! A render like this would take five minutes on my machine. I'm not exaggerating! I've thrown several Mil figures including animals, a large environment, large shaders and volumetric lighting at it all at once: ten to fifteen minutes at most to render. I've never changed the Firefly settings that came right out of the box! I'm using P6 on a Mac with 2gigs of RAM. I suspect it's the amount of RAM you have. Also probably the stuff that was fixed in the P6 update.

Difficult to tell if you've done this all in Poser! There's so much rain! LOL Whether or not, it's quite an exceptional work!!! Thanx for the tease!

You want crisp? Use one infinite or spot light with shadows enabled. You can use another light or two for reflected light... but make sure shadows are disabled! Then go to camera controls/shadow camera for the light with the shadows enabled... and using the cross-shaped hands (x and z) move in until you have everything you want crisp and shadowed fill the document window. Render in Firefly... best with Depth Map. Raytrace is ok, too. You'll have everything, especially the shadows, crisp!
Thread: Wild Hair - By DigiCalimero | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
I have to add my great appreciation for this brilliant hair! I saw the promo for it here in Product Showcase and raced to Polymage praying along the way it wasn't another product that promised so much and failed to achieve my expectations! Wow! Was I surprised! I've already used it in every render I've done since. It can do the most amazing things! Forget dynamic hair! With a few pulls on the dials this hair can do anything and looks amazing while doing it!!! :-D Thanx DigiCalimero!

Nope. Seems they are platform specific. I have the Mac P6 disk and there's a big M on it for Mac. I assume it can't be used on a PC, although I haven't tried it. So if you have a PC... better get yerself the PC version!

P4 only. Might upgrade to 6 when all the reports/complaints are in!
No pro pack
I do convert the .bums but it's a tedious and annoying job! Glad you are considering dropping them!!!

Phutuma, Mpolo, Sfiso and Philomon... are some of my favourites that imply wisdom rather than "old guy" :-D

It looks like you've just turned the bump map up to too high a percentage. In the P4 Mat Lab... turn it down to 50% or even lower.

Who's that tramping over my bridge???!!! Jeez, that's the darkest looking telling of that tale!!! Looks brilliant, though!!! :-D

You know, Nance, I'm still thanking you for the answer to that one!!! Zooming the shadowcams is a life (and hair) saver! Now I have a related question: how do I get the shadow map to read higher than 1024? I know I've read the answer to this somewhere but can't remember. (Hope this is one of your other five :-))

Thread: Problems With Having Two Figures In One Scene | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What works for me without having to go to much trouble... is to just separately morph each body part of the second figure.
Thread: M3 eye problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
For P4... in the rendering window: The Surface Material window... make sure the Object color is white and that Iris and other eye parts are selected under Materials... and that in the Texture box the texture you want is selected.
Don't know about P5.

The only thing I can think is to use Spubba's hair brushes which are in freestuff. In Pshop or other 2D software paint in hairs that cross the regular pattern or fill in some of the too regular stripey things to achieve a more "normal" hair-like appearance.
