I can answer #1, but since i don't have PPP, I have no clue where they go ( though there is a folder ...Poser4Runtimescripts in my poser 4 folder, perhaps python scripts are read in from there on PPP) You can edit these files with any text editor. I recommend notepad (PC users) if you don't have anything better (but not word or wordpad because they will try and add formatting which might mess you up) Unfortunately, notepad will try and save as .txt in some versions, so you might have to rename the file afterward. If these scripts are conventional, the python extension is .py and poser might not recognize them as anything with any other extension. if you find yourself doing lots of scripting (or other programming), it is definitely worth getting a better editor. I use ultraedit (www.ultraedit.com). it costs a little, but I use it for several languages, and am very happy with it. There are many others, some of which are free (vim and emacs, but you might have a hard time getting started with these, since they are designed for people who use these programs almost exclusively....high learning curve) Do a search for "text editor" in your favorite search engine. Most important features of a good editor are: multiple levels of undo versatile tab/space handling (especially for python scripts) good search and search/replace ... preferable using regular expressions...This is vital if you are editing a large file like the cr2 Hope this helps

I have had some trouble with the daz3d vicky 2 hires textures, but I decided my problem was that I was using the wrong Material pose. I was using the poser pro one (I think it has P or PP at the end of the name). For some reason, I was thinking that the p4 was refering to the v2p4 figure, so I was avoinding it intentionally. I figure it has something to do with the way poser was interpretting those jpgs (instead of bum files) worth trying out (I also resized the textures to various sizes less than original , since I seldom do close ups where the extra detail is worth the memory.) For the record, I am running AMD tb 750, 256M ram and winME

>>>regards to the copy paste to get the scaling. *sigh* I was afraid of that Actually, if you have access to Morphmanager (or the mac replica), you can do it without editing the file itself (though it isn't as easy as it should be) The attached link has directions Jaager posted regarding a similar question I had. PS Those are much better than my feeble attempts at creating a dwarf. Look forward to seeing it made available, cinThread: Tutorial: Moving Vicki morphs to Millinium Girls | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Has anyone else tried this with the preteen? Vicky's head starts falling toward the ground. Does anyone know what is going on there?

It looks like you need to use a few more scaling attributes (the legs might need the z scale lessened a bit, as well as some modifications on the arms. Also, the head could use a little adjustment. I too have been working at making "younger" versions of the mil figures. The mil kids are good, but they don't span the full range, do they.

Actually I prefer Konqueror to all the other two, but it aint available for windows. I bought the monsterworks package and the M2 charpack. There are dozens of other items I wish I could buy, but my wallet is still aching from the holiday season (and those darned gas bills...ugh)

I got a couple of items weeka and had to use Netscape to download. IE kept going down unexplicable (which is about what I expect from it). I just figured it was the ol' Windows needs to be rebooted again problem.

Great suggestion. I was digging into the file and wasn't getting anything accomplished, but your tip worked wonderfully. I must say thanks also for a tip on MOR files you posted in response to another question (possibly last night). My figure now sits all happy in the pose directory, taking up a whole 500k, while the soon to be deleted cr2 is looking at about 21M. I kept scooting on past the forums to ogle products at the Market place (and occassionally buy some) and download some of the freebies, but I think this forum is possibly the most valuable resource I have found. Thanks again jaager.

Well, the Matt poses would do some of that. You can strip a pose down to only those things that have materials associated with it, when you pose the figure with it, it loads the materials and sets the transparencies for you. Very nice. I am working on a program that will take posemap templates (something I created) and allow the easy generation of these types of poses, but it is a bit ugly (though it works for my needs) If you have the morphs installed, you could save the settings associated with that morph as well (set as you need). That would do most of it. There are also some products that allow you to click on a MOR file (some sort of pose file) that gives your Vicky 2 some new features (Veluptous Vicky 2 and Milena are two I remember mentioning it in their descriptions, though there are probably many others). You might do some research on MOR files to see if you can have them add morphs with the click of a button.
Thread: Buy Vue....maybe not? | Forum: Vue
I was a bit unsure about Vue4 because of problems with the demo (on a win ME machine), but the only problem I have had since I got my copy (about one week) is memory. If Vue 4 crashes, so far, I have been able to trace it to the swap file eating up the remaining disk space on C: This is a major improvement over the demo version, and I haven't any regrets for the money I spent. Good luck!
