Just a wild thought, but try going to the poser icon on your desktop, right click and select "run as administrator" - then do as Rpublishing does above. Depending on your version of windows and the location the importer is trying to write too, what might be happening is that the importer is trying to right to a sub-directory of your program files directory, which your standard user login may not have write privileges for, causing the script to be unable to write the files needed, causing the problem you describe.

Well, believe it or not I'd probably ask first what sort of system you already have, and if you find it meets your needs for rendering except for the animati9on. The reason I ask, rendering does rely pretty heavily on the video card, but the real heavy lifting I've found when it comes to animation is actually the amount of processing power you have available that seems to make the biggest difference.
When I did video animation I found that an older file server with a ton of processors actually would out perform my even my I7 with a top of the line video card when it came to producing video animation sequences in poser. I was using an IBM 455 with 16 dual core 2.2 GHZ processors for the task, worked like a charm even though the video in a rack mount file server is very limited (pretty much just standard VGA, they aren't really designed for gaming, etc..)
I picked mine up used for a song and replaced the single core 2 ghz with dual core 2.2 ghz, giving me an effective 32 cores running at 2.2 ghz to handle the animation process. Worked great. However I don't recommend this be a primary machine or as a replacement for a PC, about all it was really good for was animation because of it's other limitations. So if you have a good fast machine with a decent video card in it that's doing you fine for everything else, and just want some more horsepower for animation, this might be a viable option. If you don't already have a desktop that's meeting your other needs, I'd probably do as the others have suggested and look at a good I5 or I7 machine with a decent video card and a good amount of ram.
On the file server route, please note that an older rack mount file server is a big, ungainly beast that does suck down a lot of juice. I stored mine in the basement, had it setup on the network and remote desktop into it as needed, I'd shut it down when not in use to save on the electric bills. .

No, not everyone will view. Maybe no one will. However, the "..No one loves me Everyone hates me. I'm going to go eat worms..." post is nothing new and is nothing more than a blatant attempt to manipulate other members.
What do you mean not everyone will view it? Of course they will. Don't say things like that. It upsets Kevin Costner. Then he runs off and makes another Robin Hood movie. Yikes. We can't have that on our conscience.

The OP has some choices. Leave the Poser work in the galleries here. Post to other galleries such as DAZ, DA, and RDNA as well as leaving them posted here. Create their own site with gallery and post to their heart's content. Or, as he/she has already done: pull all the Poser images from the gallery so there is no chance anyone will view them.
Which would the OP prefer? One or two views or no views? If it's not posted, it cant be viewed.
So.. what your getting at here is.. if you post it, they will view.
I like it. Very Field of Dreams .. lol

The poser "market" ,as I have seen it here, is only interested in Northern European Female models with realisticly bending joints so she looks "realistic" in her naked renders and an endless supply of female clothing to dress her for internet gallery stills.
No story telling, no animation, no VFX work............. just her Standing there.
you are not going to find Many real "pros" willing to invest time in this paradigm.
Add to the picture that this is a community of people who don't buy stuff at 9.95$ because they are waiting for it to be discounted to 4.95$, while on TurboSquid prices start from an order of magnitude more and are never discounted. Why spend your time creating a 29.95$ fully featured character which sells next to no copies when you can sell for 79$ a single tooth?
Create a character that's worth $29.95 and my guess is it would sell - I certainly would pay that for a high quality character, the key words being high quality. If I can get roughly the same quality from a character that only costs $4.99 or $9.99 then yes, I'd be stupid not to buy the less expensive one.
Figure models? Well for non-human figures depending on what it is, I've bought more than a few. For human figures? Not much point in investing a ton of money in something I have to spend tons and tons of time creating content for to use, so yes I tend to stick with the ones that have aftermarket vendor support. My free time to spend on 3d is limited, so I try to make the most of it when I can. If that offends someone else's delicate sensibilities, well so be it I guess.

I have no doubt that asking for critical comments will not get any if the asking is done in the gallery. If that's your point, I agree.
But you did say "Sadly no version of Rendo has ever included a "read the artists mind" button so none of the rest of us would have any clue that this was your desired intent unless you stated it clearly, loudly, and often." And that is why i showed that screen shot. Rendo does show the artist's mind on this point. If you don't look at the images anyway, that is no refutation of my point. People who want critical comments can ask for them explicitly in the UI at the time they post the image.
So really there are two issues - how to get somebody to participate in the gallery so they can see that you're asking for engagement with other artists, and then actually enaging, and the dangers thereof. You make some valid points on both those counts.
Yup.. That was pretty much what I was getting at. And no arguments here but I noticed when I uploaded that the "Both Critical and non=critical comments welcomed" seems to be the default setting, so I'd tend to take that with a grain of salt. Granted I guess you could leave a critical comment and if they got offended chastise them for not changing the default, but in my experience actual critique isn't usually what most people are after, seems like what they really want is a pat on the back. I'm ok with either myself really, I participated in a couple of photography forums when I first started to get serious about it as a hobby - and my initial attempts got a ton of critique.. some of it pretty harsh. One guy even suggested my best course of action would be to take the camera back to the store and ask for a refund.. lol. I thought that was mondo harsh, till I read the next comment and it suggested I buy a really expensive camera strap and use it to hang myself with.. lol.
But it all in all the majority of the critique helped me a lot and I didn't take any of it personally. But I found in leaving critique of my own I discovered pretty fast that even when people actually explicitly ask for it they often aren't really prepared to receive it, even if your like me and leave only comments you feel are constructive. So unless it's someone I know or someone that has posted enough that I can tell they are the sort who would take criticism well, honestly I avoid it like the plague. Again just my personal preference of course,

There is no reason to read the artists mind. Rendo does have this pulldown with comment options on every gallery image:
If that isn't clear, I don't know what is.
Would be clear, you know if I spent all my time going through other peoples gallery postings. I don't. I rarely if ever get over to the gallery section myself, so unless someone posts something in a forum, eh, I'm not likely to see it. And honestly, even with that flag I'm not likely to leave critical feedback on someone else's gallery. It's way too easy for folks to take anything I might say personally, and since that isn't my desired result far easier for me to just avoid doing it all together. I've participated in some photography forums where people would post pictures they'd taken, ask flat out for critique, and then get highly offended when it was offered. So ya, I'll pass. YMMV of course.

i do find the delivery of such sales emailings to arrive too late as well. issues regarding which emails servers one may be using have come up quite oft, with Google as standing as the most apparent, or obvious, culprit. not sure i'm willing to buy into that whole stance as i do receive all other types of mailings from this site just fine, and in a timely fashion - for example, if i purchased a thing right now, as i am typing this, i know that i'll receive a notice to my email confirming the purchase, even before, p'raps, the site itself has turned a pending download into an actual download for me.
it does get tiresome to receive sales notices that have come and gone all before i'm even aware of their existence at all. i'm all for a good tease, mind, but there does come a point whenst that turns to only frustration, yea? eventually, all sales notices will, or could, be viewed akin to the 'boy that cried wolf', so they aren't opened or considered at all, but merely dumped without viewing because one becomes accustomed to the pointlessness of the endeavour... ie. Rendo is essentially training me, in the long run, to just simply ignore them... shrug...
Yup. I think they'd be better off not emailing stuff out unless the sale was scheduled for at least a week to avoid such problems, or even making it so the email would go out a week ahead of the scheduled date of the sale. Not everyone checks their email regularly and it just has too much of a negative impact on your customer base when they can't take advantage of sale prices.

if I did fishing for compliments I would not have felt the need to open this thread. I speak of constructive comments, but perhaps escapes you the difference.
Ok, well if you wish for a more serious discussion on the topic rather than staying lighthearted, please note the following important tip: if you want constructive criticism, you need to ask for it. Plain and simple. I would never consider saying anything negative about anyone else's artwork unless the artist specifically asked me for a critique, and even then I would go out of my way to find as much good as I could bad no matter how bad it might be - because most people put a lot of effort into their art and criticism is rarely if ever received as intended. Unless you specifically asked for critique on every piece, well then you can't blame people for not giving you what you wanted. Sadly no version of Rendo has ever included a "read the artists mind" button so none of the rest of us would have any clue that this was your desired intent unless you stated it clearly, loudly, and often.

why not hang your pictures in your rooms and not just look at you? how much purity.
Because then I would get distracted by all the pictures and not be able to stare into the dark abyss that is my soul. Well that and I ran out of that sticky stuff I use to hang pictures on walls.

Ok, well my 2 cents worth. I've been a member at Rendo for quite a while myself, bought a few things over the years, etc. The new site redesign? Ok, admittedly not a huge fan. Prime membership? Yup.. I recently purchased one, but for me it makes sense. Based on the things that I buy and the volume that I purchase I'll get my money's worth out of it. Granted, it's not as good a value as it once was, back when I paid more for it - but still it will end up saving me money in the long run. Would I prefer they go back to the previous way they did prime? Yes.. absolutely. I much preferred it when all Prime products where the same price and there wasn't any guesswork involved. My recommendation would be to establish a second category for these products that are not really prime priced. If the vendor isn't willing to sell at Prime pricing then they shouldn't get the benefit of prime advertising. The prime members could still enjoy a discount, but the vendors wouldn't get the product placement they would get unless they are willing to sell at a true prime price.
Like 3d stories I've found the advertising to be inconsistent - I will receive notifications for a sale only to discover it has expired which of course simply encourages me not to buy the product. I would recommend if a product is only going to be on sale for 24 or 48 hours, then put a huge banner at the top of the email saying that - TODAY ONLY or 2 DAYS ONLY or something along those lines. Either that, or don't send out email advertisements for sales on products that will only be on sale for such a short period of time. Again if the vendors aren't willing to offer the sale for a longer period of time, they shouldn't get premium treatment when it comes to product placement and advertising.

To create art is great. If a person creates art with the expectation that others are going to gush over that art then what they are doing is asking (demanding) attention.
Which would have been really handy advice to get BEFORE I cut off my left ear. Sigh.

You guys are probably going to hate my guts for this, but I used my track texture on the Pixel Downs course from DAZ. Right now, I am making the water hazard for the steeplechase, using primitives.
Don't be ridiculous. Of course I don't hate your guts for that. I hated your guts long before that. But don't take it to heart, I'm just not a people person.. lol.

The most important point is. To me there is no reason to "move" at all, just because you install Genesis it doesn't mean you need to delete V4. Or if you install DS that you need to uninstall Poser. You can have the best of both worlds and use each and every tool to help you create, without discounting anything due to some imaginary tribal division.
So Good luck, I hope you find what works best for you. But don't be afraid to try something new once in awhile. It can be quite refreshing and inspiring. And don't feel the need to restrict yourself to fit someone else's ideal of what is right for you. Only you can truly judge that.
Well naturally everyone's situation is different, for me I really don't get enough free time to play with Poser, much less learning an entirely new system like Daz Studio. At some point hopefully that will change and I'll have more time to devote to my 3d hobby.

To make a completed 2015 CGI character.really not that bad. It's a lot easier then it was back in 2000 The Dark Ages of CGI. If you know human anatomy ,how to make good topology,C4D ,zBrush ,Allegorithmic. you can make a unrigged unmorphed Genesis3 in a week.
Ok, so if I know human anatomy. Well I know the leg bone is connected to the. umm. .something or other. Ya, not a clue really. I don't know enough to make bad topology, and most of the programs you mentioned.. well complete mystery. But, I did stay at a Holiday Inn express. Well, not the whole night of course, got thrown out - sort of a long story really. Lol
I think your right on the money though, the big hurdle really is the vendor support, and it's a very strange equation - a new figure won't get widespread support without vendor support, and it's hard to get vendor support until the figure gains widespread support without it. So really I think a new figure has to offer something that will encourage people to use it and continue to support it prior to it really gaining widespread acceptance - which doesn't really seem to happen all that often.
