I've been doing a lot of cell shaded or mostly cell shaded work lately and my biggest thing is trying to figure out exactly what type of look I want. I've spent weeks rendering and rerendering and compositing and recompositing the same scene over and over trying to get it to look just right. I think I'm getting closer now. I had a thread going a while back of the project I'm working on now. I've actually changed rendering styles on it twice since then.

I'd wear it. You never know, somebody might see me wearing it, then come to the site, then buy one of my models :)

I'm personally looking forward to trying it in poser 4 :) Since I do cell shading, I use polygon based hair, so I figure I can do it all with morph targets, and lots of them. The best thing about this challenge is if everybody comes up with a different way of doing it, and then we all explain how we did it.

I like the idea of having an animation challenge that isn't specific to a certain software package. This sounds like a great challenge that anybody could have fun with and learn from.

Thanks for the compliments and advice everybody! This city set is one of the most involved models I think I've ever tried to make. It's a lot of fun. I'm glad I'm doing it in a cartoon style, I'd go nuts if I had to model it all photorealistic. This is the most fun I've had on a project like this. I only wish I had more time to work on it. I'll keep the updates coming though!

Thanks Jim! Bob, I like the idea, but I think I like having this set all bright since I have so many dark sets in the story already. Even the backroom at this store is pretty dark. Overall, I'm trying to make the brightness of the sets match the tone of the scene. I'll try a scene in the backroom next, since it'll have more interesting lighting.

I can't get it to work either. What media player plays asx files? The shorter trailers didn't work either. And I couldn't find any pics on the site. Now you've got us all curious! :)
