From now on all cloth made for DS must be both conforming and dynamic. Otherwise you are doing something wrong.
Thread: Dynamic Clothing | Forum: DAZ|Studio
dForce is the way to go. Daz have though deep and hard. It is not only better than both Optitex and VWD but have the potential to compete with Marvelous Designer on longer terms (as soon they have ironed out some beginner-bugs). The killer feature is the combination of conforming and dynamic cloth, delineated by weight-maps. Not for converting old conforming cloth but for making original dynamic cloth from scratch.
What must have the first attention, is that you cannot simulate a complete walk (a la MD) with a long dress without something goes wrong. The dress clings to the legs and make the simulation break. But I am convinced that it is easy to fix. Another is the need to puff and drag the cloth during simulation. Other than that I see no problem. Now Daz have the potential to take over the whole fashion industry.

I don't think "professionals" from the film and game industry can do any better. The Poser and Daz people are just as much professionals. It is not about modeling a beautiful face or body but making a figure that can bend in the most insane ways with several layers of cloth keeping in place. The film & game guys don't have to do that. The cloth and the figure are one thing, it is together. Making a Poser and Daz figure is a very special craft that is not done anywhere else. And this craft has a big future that eventually may bring in more money than film & game together.

I highly doubt it Boni, and even if it should happen it will not run in Daz Studio. But it won't happen. It is remarkable that the Poser team, in spite of all advanced technology that are in Poser now, not managed to build a new figure. That said no one else have, none of the great players max, Maya & co and no one else have. It seems to be obvious now that only the people around Daz (HiveWire is lead by one of Daz most important founders) can build figures. Even Daz do not always succeed. Genesis was almost perfect but not before Genesis2 was perfection attained. As is Dawn. G3 is over the top, the equivalent of a software maker that put more and more into the program until it is bloated and unusable.
So the only solution now is that Smith Micro buys HiveWire or HiveWire buys the Poser Team from Smith Micro. Only then can we have real competition. "Today bitch tomorrow senior partner"

4 Dawn clones for Daz Studio, so Dawn can use the cloth for V4, Genesis, G2F and G3F Very accurate using Wrax X program. After conversion they can easily be exported to Poser, fully functional.

So, you seem to think that you have the whip hand, instead of realizing that every time you chase away a member is a failure for you. Soon you will have no one left. No one need to ban me. It is enough to know I am not an asset. So good bye I wish you good luck.

There is nothing in CGSociety's's Terms and Conditions that forbids discussions about "best software". The ban against "What software should I use", or "App versus App" threads is an invention solely by the leader of the General Discussion forum. In spite of this the "Should I learn 3Ds Max?" thread is happily summing along and no one interfere.
Try to goggle zBrush vs Mudbox and you get dozens of hits in all kinds of forums. (Including CGSociety) There is a great interest in threads like this and understandable so. Life is simply too short to try out all software. The great composer Hugo Alfvén claimed that he had learned orchestartion by listen to people arguing for their instruments.

"Not deleting posts and threads is not an option. It's a rare forum..."
A forum that the poser forum management would do well to examine is CGSociety. Their moderators are far more restrict and delete at most one post a month or something like that. Neither do they have any problem with "spambots and trolls". IMO the current policy of this forum is wrong and to the detriment of us all.
Thread: Thoughts of a departed Moderator | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is an very easy solution for this. Stop deleting posts and threads. I for once will not participate as long as thread I am in are in danger of being locked. basicwiz, no matter how likable he was/is in private was completely unfit as moderator. He acted far too often- I don't understand what is wrong with the Poser forum management, apparently they agreed with his style as moderator! basicwiz actually asked me, who works with Poser 14 to 16 hours 7 days a week what I was doing in the forum! Both in public and in private mail. But at the Marvelous Designer forum, which have been unmoderated for 3 years I was choosen as one of their evangelists. I notice that two posts have been deleted already, from this very thread. The only result of all this will just be an empty forum.
Thread: Smith Micro/Dawn connection | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am thinking of taking inspiration from Assassin's Creed, the video game series and there is also a film. Time table = Whenever you have time(finish what you are doing first), and
Weapons of your choice.

Thanks but it is the mesh that is important. I felt I should make a Kriegerin, using the same reference but I have a better idea. Why don't you do an Assassin, and I do the same. So can the two girls fight it out. I should have asked Dawn what she thought but she had to do her nails..

"Trying to push a figure through our throats will backfire heavily."
I won't argue with you. Now that there is a moderator that is vehemently against Dawn, no matter what I say the thread will be locked. I prefer to do not talk.

Thread: My next newbie question - Dawn | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
All that is said above is true, but if you value your content creators, the vendors and the free bee makers you can support them by supporting Dawn. Once you have made an outfit for Dawn it transfers easily with all morphs to Daz Studio by simple export import. And once you are in Daz you're on mamma's street. To convert to V6 and the whole Genesis family is a breeze. Dawn versions for Poser and Daz, and a V6 (G2) version in the same time as you used to make one V4 set before. All in modern weight mapping. Dawn does not lock you in. It can be bough here at Renderosity, at Hivewire and a couple of other places. Soon there will be other figures with Dawn technology. Dawn is the future! Be realistic, You don't use sunglasses from last year do you? Or do you?
