That's so cute! Don't make your other kid jealous, though. (make her one too) And yes, that tripod completely ruins the composition ;-)

Dear Dr. Evil, there are too many variables here, send more details on what kind of effect you'd like to achieve. Do you want to photograph candlelight itself, objects lit by candles, rooms, faces, somethingn else?

You kidding?? I love No.4, you look just as if you were pressing against a storefront window, very very intelligent ;-) Jokes aside, No.6 makes you look like you're full of thoughtfullness and infinite wisdom. Ha, you can't full us!! Anywho, it's always nice to see your face Dr. Evil :-) VK

Thank y'all for the comments! Those edges... I can't decide what to do with them. They popped up after I solarized and when i try to selectively blur them, it starts looking oh so fake and retouched. I think i'll leave them alone for now. Darn digital imaging!! ;-) !!GIVE ME STRAIGHT PICTURES!! Just kidding, I've recently converted :-{VK

Those were my hi-res photographic backgrounds for Poser or what have you. Unfortunately Yahoo can't handle the amount of traffic they generated, so links are down and I'm trying to find a place to upload them again. Sorry for the confusion.

From personal experience I would recommend Nikon 950 or 990 any day. Flexible, reliable, great image quality and the price is right. Nikons also have all the features that you might need in your work: manual controls, variable flash modes, hi-res TIFF mode etc. ALso consider the variety of dedicated lens adapters made by Nikon, not a third party. I have no info on Kodak cams, sorry :( As far as buyng camera gear on Ebay goes, I've done it a few times and would not recommend it. First of when buying an expensive piece of kit you'd want to make sure it's not grey market, that it has an extensive warranty (repairs can break your bank), and finally that it's not going to be a hassle. For every good experience on Ebay, I've had at least one misrepresentation, defect, delay etc. If buying at a local store is out of the question, consider mail-order stores like B&H, Adorama, Samy's Camera and the like. All are reputable, all have website and might save you quite a bit of cash. Be careful, however, if you shop ad pages of photography magazines: thousands of people got burned by unscrupulous advertisers (especially NYC stores). Don't mean to scare, or discourage you, this was just my cautious two cents. Good luck, and I hope you have your new camera soon :) VK

Oh, and we see no profile here, only a 3/4 view of a sinister mastermind trying to take over the world :)

What's the make and model of the scanner, Marsh? Flatbeds with CMOS chips vs CCD are prone to this kind of defect. If that's the case, it's just cheap manufacturing and it's worth replacing with a different model :-(
