If you still have a working DSON (DAZ to Poser) converter installed, I would keep Poser 10 for converting clothes to Genesis 1 and 2. I think you can use both Poser versions alongside.

There is a wrong assumption, that in DAZ you have to buy clothes for each new figure again!

You can wear many of the V4 /M4 Clothes to all the newer Character with autofit, if the clothes do not fit in the first attempt, use the old “Genesis” figure as a step between, after this fit the clothes to your new Genesis 2-Genesis 8 / 8.1 figure. It doesn’t work with all clothes and Hair but with a lot.

I think the advertises picked randomized. The more products for a character are in store, the greater the chance to appear in the advertises. Maybe, there are a few more values addressed. This morning (after reading this thread), I looked the first time explicit at the at the Top and saw a product for Genesis 8, one for LA Feme and one Scenery product for both Studio and Poser.

But you are right, the most of the time there are genesis products only! seldom a poser only product.

I Thing basic wear, (Bra, Panties, shorts) if I remember right those undies came with the V4/M4 and all Genesis basic essentials sets

Yes, AI can do a lot nowadays, but for me it’s just the satisfaction to do things myself!

If I remember right, the DSON importer was free.

I think it’s not impossible, but you need workaround’s. The last Genesis figure that works well in Poser was Genesis 2 (male and female). The newer figures don’t work well in Poser.

So if you prefer Poser 11 or 12 you should consider the Poser native figures or V4 / M4 from DAZ.

V4 and M4 are still available with Poser installer.

Genesis 3, 8 and 9 work well with all the possibilities in the native program that is for free  with a big “But” !!!  -you need a few add on to make the program work like Poser. At last, it is a decision which figures you like more and which program you prefer.

V1,V2, V3, V4, V4.1, V4.2, V5 (Genesis), V6 (Genesis 2), V7 (Genesis 3), V8 (Genesis 8), V8.1 (Genesis 8.1) - As I know Genesis 8.1 is an update of Genesis 8 like V4.2 to V4.1 and V4. Finally it doesn't matter witch Number a figure has, as long the user like the figure. Genesis 8.1 works also with Genesis 8 and Genesis 3 Textures, but it doesn't work the other way.

If you have DAZ installed, its easy!

Open Studio, search for the scene, Click on the little box at the right side of content library, a panel opens, select “Create Poser Companion Files” and click on it, the next panel opens where you can select where your scene or whatever you want to convert should go, for a scene, use under “Use this library and file extension”  and select “Scene” then click on “Accept” Studio will convert the scene.

Open Poser go to” Scene” look for DSON conversions and search for your Converted scene, open the scene and save the Scene as poser scene, I think than you can open it with Poser 12.

 I don’t have poser 11 or 12, but with poser 2014 it works fine for me, before I switched completely to studio itself!

There are a lot of scenes with instances that don`t convert very well! Studio has a script tool that convert instances to objects, but after conversion the scenery is very poly heavy in Poser (you have to buy this scrip)

Hm, the interesting fact is indeed, that forum members sometimes enter a thread of the “genesis figure” users in Poser, -they enter a thread, and they don’t have any interest in Genesis! -the question I have, why did they come into this thread and stir it up? My posts where about why I finally changed the software, nothing more, I stated that DAZ isn’t cheap when you like the Genesis figures more than the default poser figures, I think Studio finally is more expensive than Poser, but it has the figure support I like! I stated that I hoped that poser once supported the genesis figures without workaround, but finally I gave Up! And followed the suggestion of a few members here, “if you want Genesis, go to Studio” and I did! nevertheless I still interested in Poser, I just changed the priorities. Before I switched, I used Studio to convert things to Poser, now I use Poser to make, or rework things for Studio, so I am still a poser 2014 user! I could go to Blender to have it all in one, like so much other users, but I’m too lazy to learn the interface, I’m happy to adapt to the studio interface right now, but I really miss the clear structured interface in Poser and the morph brush of course!
