In Wings 3D you can type your text and directly extrude it, and it's easy to do. Wings 3D is free.
If you already have Photoshop CS6, 5 or 4 (I'm not sure about 3), you can convert test to 3D very quickly and easily.
Thread: Poser 10 / 2014 is available for purchase now !!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I absolutely get the point! But I do not get the point why a german or swedish citizen has to pay more tax as an US citizen... (as more as we do not use the roads over there - that's the reason why everybody pays sale-taxes to his home land).
I wonder is it VAT for European customers? A lot of US companies are charging us VAT, and I don't like the idea because we have no way of knowing if they even pay it over to the EU.
I've held off buying until SM clarify this for us.

My son read my post here (It is his computer that ZBrush and Poser are installed on) and clarified what the advice and fix from SM Support was;
Open ZBrush (don't uninstall as I stated in my previous post), go to Preferences-Goz and click "Clear cache files".
That's all it took to fix the problem. Sorry for the wrong info in my previous post, apparently I'm just an old fool. :)

Thanks all. I had to ask SM Support for help after a clean Poser reinstall failed to fix the probem. SM Support found out what the problem was and fixed it.
The problem was the ZBrush Goz to Poser. Apparently this is a known issue that can be caused by closing Poser after sending a file through Goz and not finishing it or sending it back to ZBrush. Or something along those lines. It only affects Poser Pro 2012 running on SP3, SP2 is not affected.
Uninstalling ZBrush and the reinstalling it fixes the issue. But I wouldn't be using Goz again until there is a proper resolution to the issue by either SM or Pixologic.

It still crashed. I checked that Poser was allowed full access in the firewall settings, then I turned off the firewall and Poser still crashed. I'm going to reboot and see what happens. Will post back tomorrow, thanks for your advise. :)

Quote - No Zbrush here either and probably never, but the old fashioned way wasn't hard at least ;). Thanks guys for the update.
Laurie
With the Poser Morph tool, do we even need Zbrush for this?

Quote - Customer service say the update should have created an order over at Content Paradise...no such order yet.
Let me compare how I ordered the update with what other people have done:
- Received email from Smith Micro informing me of the SR3 update.
- Clicked on the link in the email and was taken to this page: http://poser.smithmicro.com/updates.html
- Clicked on the "Win SR3 Update" button and was asked to provide my serial number, which I did
- Was taken to "fastspring.com" to complete my order
- Entered personal information and completed my order
- Was taken to a conformation page that told me I would be emailed a receipt and download information within 30 minutes.
There was nothing said about using Content Paradise.
Is this similar to how other's ordered the update, or did I do somthing different?
That's exactly how it worked for me.

Quote - Do you see the small gray docking square in the upper right corner, just under the X to close? Click that square, and choose "Floating." Does that fix it?
No but I figured it out. In preferences, set libray to open externally instead of embedded.
Thanks for your quick reply.
So far it looks good. Deleting items from a scene no longer results in an age long wait for the scene to refresh. Same after rendering, no long wait for the preview after you click the preview tab. I often had to wait a couple of minutes for the preview to reappear.

Anyone else having a library display issue? My library previously opened up in its own window and had a minimize button. After the update it's gone back to the old Poser way of only having an x to close it, ie no option to minimize the library now.

Quote - Dear Sir,
Why does content from the DAZ store use installers? Why can't I just unzip a runtime?
The installers:
- are flaky;
I agree fully. I've currently got about $150 of DAZ purchases that just refuse to install. I've followed all the DAZ help pages and finally had a reply to my support ticket. But the reply just sent me links to install information that I had already tried and they didn't work.
I prefer the products that come zipped and we can't go wrong with.

Quote - Those are the new revised updated defective DAZ installers file a bug report w/ DAZ and get a refund while you can
Done that Jim thanks. Two days ago I filed a bug and asked for a refund for a couple of purchases I made in November. Haven't heard a word back yet. Plenty of emails from DAZ with special offers, but no reply on my refund request. Trying to contact some of the vendors isn't getting a result either.
