I have downloaded Blender but I have no experience with 3D programs. Is there a book on Blender that would help teach me at a slower pace than the tutorials? I'm hoping for something with some tutorials & that I can use as a printed reference.

Thanks. I'll post my "Christmas Card" for all it's worth once I figure out how to make it smaller. Right now it's about 8M which seems kinda big for a Photoshop background with some snow falling ... :)
