Thread: Is Poser development dead? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
To answer the original question, for my part I have come to the conclusion that it is. There are insinuations at the other forum that there is indeed a P12 in the works, but I can't see how a small brand new team who had to ramp up on a huge legacy code base can achieve what the original team failed to deliver over many years. I have my own views what went wrong (as does everyone here) and I am sad because I liked the program and community a lot. .
I have since spent a load of money on iClone and at DAZ. Nonsense about DAZ being "free" they are both successful and disliked because they are so good at extracting payments from their customers. I didn't like DS when I tried it years ago but I am quite surprised by it now. There are many things that annoyed me with Poser over the years (if you want examples: a library that sorts by type rather than subject, not keeping pose morphs and shape morphs rigidly separate, injection channels rather than dumping morphs in a certain place and then having them automatically available for all figures they apply to and more) and it turns out that lots of these are fixed in DS. Poser still has a lead in only a few areas, like the material room, which is still great in spite of some very bad design decisions in the last few releases. (All of this IMHO obviously)
iClone I am still learning. It is hard to get up to speed on a new tool.

Note: My presence here is not a sign that I have forgiven Renderosity for the atrocity they have perpetrated on this forum and its users.
If you reply, I will not receive an ebot notification so don't expect an answer.
Just in case: C O O L ! Thanks.
Almost everything looks much better. I just noticed that my monitors must be calibrated differently. I was going to comment on the chair producing too little shadow, but when I move it to my second monitor it looks better.

I am glad this has come up. With ctrl-scrollwheel you can zoom into and out of webpages and if you do that on a forum it goes weird and it really hard to read. For ages I thought this is what happened to Rendo and I kept zooming in and out and obviously could never find the point where it looked right.

you do chain draping dynamics using cloth room (see parrotdolphin's necklace freebie fr method)
I have seen this tutorial. Ingenious! However my point is ease of use. This sort of stuff should be painless.

I speak for the entire Poser team when I say that we value your feedback, and truly appreciate your support.Â
Hi Steve,
Thanks for your interest. There are many new features that I would love to see in Poser one day, like level of detail, larger render areas, built-in sky domes and infinite planes, but if I am honest then I have to admit that you would get the biggest bang for the buck by consolidating existing features and improving usability. The bullet physics integration for example seems hardly leveraged.
On the UI I can see your problem. This was a great UI in the P4 days but updating it will inevitably incur the wrath of existing users. An easy improvement that doesn't break backwards compatibility would be to have every function assignable to a custom hot-key (like Silo).
The injection morph system is tedious. Can we not have a folder where we just drop in the morphs for a figure that makes them immediately accessible to all instances of that figure? (With buttons on the figure instances to combine morphs and to delete 0 morphs to save memory.)
I'll stop here before the post gets to long to read. These are just some of my personal preferences and I make no claim of representing any section of your user base.

This all sounds like sage advice, however I still got the blink problem with a single runtime, and after re-initialisation. I filed a ticket at DAZ ages ago, but they didn't know how to fix it.

head scr'ch ... i don't understand how the library figure can be broken.
I know. Weird, but seems to happen to lots of people.
I saw this too, I looked over the post again, and tried editing the dependencies
Tell me if you want to help to get that inject script to fix it

It is useful to know about re-initialising, but that didn't fix it for me.
I have just started on a fix injection myself and it works half way at least.

This is a recurring problem. Here is another thread:

Â
The solution is discussed here on this RDNA thread:
http://forum.runtimedna.com/archive/index.php/t-64299.html
Â
It fixed the problem for a while for me, but the problem came back.
Â
If someone could make an inject pose to reenable the blink morphs that would be most helpful.

Thread: EZMat | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
A question: I use XA from D3D. This is a toolbar that I have at the top of the poser window for frequently used commands. I have a button "EZ" for EZskin. I'd like to make one for EZmat. What is the Python call to get the EZmat window up, please?
Thanks for a really really useful new tool.

Thanks for all the useful tips.
It is a shame that reversed normals are so pervasive in the poser world. Just sloppy modelling really.
