I also have created and uploaded Part3 of this tutorial.
Setting  up debugging of pythonscripts inside Poser has become a lot easier with PPro2010 / 2014. 

The problem here is that if i look into my tutorials section, Part3 has the 
"(pending approval)" state since the day i uploaded it:

As my poser experience (since Poser5) tells me, Poser11 will be stable after SR3, hopefully for the ppl using Poser11. Personally i will pause again for 1 to 2 Releases, like i did before, got  PPro2010 then PPro2014.
Maybe SM should take more time too and produce more quality content and less initial bugs.
Releasing a figure like Pauline with such flaws is not understandable / acceptable. 

So now back to the topic of this thread, lets have a look at SM's Alyson and Ryan.

(comparing the smith micro figures, positives and negatives of each.)

Well so i start with very annoing negative one and hope this does not count as offtopic.

My first issue with this figures was the ONE folder they are installed to. 

Lets say you have installed the distributed figures packages of PPro2014 and take
a first look inside your content (runtime\libraries\People\Ryan or \Alyson).
Wow, you see all mixed up together, very confusing without any structure. 

Its possible to clearly structure folders under runtime\libraries since Poser5 !
(provided that you don't have references inside)
But SM the Poser devlopers take you that freedom, by packing all different Ryan
Versions including corresponding .obj's and .pmds in ONE directory.
(Rember .obj and .pmd are references and should reside under runtime\geometries)
And Alyson, absolute the same. (Each directory has more than 600 MB together 1.2GB)

So tell me if you dont know these figures very well, where to start to check them out ?

Besides that, .pmd Tech should help to not copy morphs over and over again.
But what does SM here ?, they create absolute indentical copies of .pmds
with different names.

So before i was content to continue with Ryan and Alyson i had to clear out
that crap to an easy to use folder structure. Costed me about 2 hours, but now
i have the folder structure like it should came from SM. References  on its place
and saved a lot of space, getting rid of this useless copies of .pmd files.
And also a clear division between Rayn and Ryan2, Alyson and Alyson2  and all of his/her different versions.

or is there a way to integrate an external editor directly ?

BTW, can anybody tell me, how to tell "Markdown" it should insert a simple "CR/LF" ? i format my text in "write" window via CR/LF (Beginning just a new Line by pressing enter) but in the preview after markdown processing all my CL/LFs are gone ... arrgll

Hello hopeandlove, thanks for caring about my problem. So i start to explain step by step and with detailed info to reproduce the errors.

Nr.1 Replacing a Picture in one of my tutorials. Tutorial Name: "IDLE Part2 : Debugging Python Scripts with IDLE inside Poser" Tutorial Link : https://www.renderosity.com/mod/tutorial/?tutorial_id=2223 What i want to do: Replace the Picture in Page1 with the correct Picutre. Workflow:

1. i open my tutorial by doublecicking it on the Page "My Tutorials"
2. I click Manage Pages , in the now open pages window i click "Edit Page" for Page 1
3. i click Picture , a Dialog Window opens,
4. I select the correct Picture and press open, and here happens the bug: the dialog closes BEFORE i can press the "INSERT Image" Button on the Dialog ! To clearify i made a screenshot

well at last the insert picture dialog in the forum works

Had some trouble with the AIR-Library too.
(Using PPRO2010 SR1 on W7 64bit Ultimate)

4 days ago, i could not anymore bring the AIR-libray back to screen.
the window was there "minimized" in the taskbar, but clicking on it had no result,
except a short flashing.
Could close it, restart it in poser , same result.

Besides the AIR-Library i  use D3D's XL (prefered). So the evening the problem appeared i did'n care much about it.
Turning on my machine the next day the problem was still there.
Yeah, hunting time for the Scorpion (=Me).

With my experience, i know that often wrong settings in the initial files causes problems.

Found that:
C:UsersYourAccountAppDataRoamingLSMGUIAIR.64AAB1E9DCCE40D96A4E881F8BD26884D826DB32.1Local Storepreferences.xml

WITHOUT RUNNING POSER!
Deleted "preferences.xml" to recycle.bin for eventually later restoring, if things go worse :)

Starting Poser after that, my AIR-Library loaded normaly again.
And srry, i could not reproduce the error until now.
but the library still works fine :)

Maybe that coud help 

BTW: i only once answered the qestion to windows wether poser has access to "internet"
or better said local ip adresses in the network, shortly after installation.
Since that i had no probems with that.
Disconnecting my local network from the internet has no influcence on how poser starts - wether its connected to the internet or not.

And i have another one for you - its about home-calling.
2 weeks ago, (normally i am always connected to internt,)
AIR popped up, with the friendly message it want to update itself.
Boahh nice i thougt - did i allow AIR anytime to look for updates, NO i didn't.
Because i did  a complete system image one day before i let it go. OK no negative
issuses, even after sys restart.
When i installed PP2010, i saw no option wether i want AIR look for updates.
Think i should check my IP-log how often AIR called home for upd info :)

basicly, this looks very good to me.
what happens if you delete your backdrop and rerender this ?
