I'll submit that he/she ticked language advisory because it would appear to be a second language. An honest misunderstanding.
Sorry omoro, didn't mean to hijack your thread...I'm unable to help with your problem.
Thread: Looking for Multi-Armed Vicki and Mike figures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Simple...
you need to hack the cr2. Don't touch the area between the figureResFile...those point to the actual bodyparts of the .obj that you need. Since you're not creating a new object, you don't need to edit that part.
What you need to do then is copy all the arm parts, from rCollar/lCollar all the way down to the fingers. Rename each new body part...for example, the new rCollar now becomes r1Collar, r1Shldr, etc.
A technique is to use Cr2Editor....use a blank M2 file and do a find/replace of all the body parts to the above naming convention. Save this file as a temp. Open the temp file AND the target multi-arm file in Cr2Editor. Then copy/paste the renamed parts from your temp file to the Multi-Arm cr2. Be sure to follow the hierarchial order: In the cr2, I'd add the new body parts after the original arm parts, in the same order.
Finally, be sure to copy the addChild and weld bits at the end of the cr2, under the figure heading.
For morphs, you can use the same technique above. Use a cr2 with morphed parts...rename all arm bits to the naming convention above. Save as a temp file. Two methods here: use cr2 editor to copy/paste the morphs from temp cr2 to your multi-arm cr2. Or, use morph manager to copy morphs across...which I find to be much faster.
Hope this helps.
Thread: The Tailor Woes? I think I may have a solution... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
BastBlack...I tried, unsuccessfully, to use the cloth room to improve the catsuit's breast morphs. Although I got some decent results, my cloth room simulation actually made the whole catsuit slightly larger. I'm not sure why. The cloth room always makes me shake my head...to be quite honest, it seems like I get different results everytime I use it. I think the Poser guys developed this program on a super-secret quantum machine, so you get different results at the same time.
EnglishBob...actually, the catsuit does a fine job for transferring morphs via Tailor. Plus, its relatively light weight, so it performs slightly better. I normally bump up my tailor preferences since the catsuit will intersect, or be slightly larger than your cloth item. I use Max distance away 10 and 0 for the bottom one (sorry, can't remember).

LOL! The new catsuit CR2, with just a few morphs, clocks in at 38Mb. The obj file is around 8MB.
The new V3 CR2, on the other hand, is modestly sized at 138 MB with only a few morphs like Heavy, PlusSize, Voluptuous, ArmsHeavy, HipSmall, HipNarrow, and a few more. That's just with the few morphs I was playing with. The obj file alone is around 24MB.
I tell you what: You guys tell me what morphs you'd prefer, and I'll finish the job. I don't think V3 is doable: the sheer size of file is staggering. Plus, since DAZ sells the mesh and morphs separately, I don't think I'll be able to encode the mesh and Cr2 legally.
The catsuit, however, may be another story. Unfortunately, with the catsuit, you won't be able to transfer head, hand, finger, and foot morphs...so transferring to gloves or shoes would be out.
BTW, I don't have file hosting either, so someone better have a mighty large e-mail inbox. :tongue2:
Thread: V3 Multiple Clothing Characters into one Character? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sure you can...redundancies in body parts aren't a problem.
Just load all the clothing items that you want to turn into a single character into a scene. Make sure everything is zeroed. To be extra careful, load a zeroed (and IK off!) V3 in there as well to make sure your clothes are fitting properly. You can conform the clothes if you wish, but there shouldn't be a need if everything is zeroed.
If the clothes aren't fitting properly in the legs, then your V3 probably isn't zeroed with IK off.
If the clothes aren't fitting properly in the arms with V3 zeroed then the clothes maker probably designed the clothes that way. In that case try conforming the clothes to a zeroed (!!!!) V3.
NOTE: In case it isn't obvious, to zero a character do the following:
1. IK off: Figure-->Use Inverse Kinematics-->deselect all items
2. Zero Figure: Window-->Joint Editor-->Zero Figure (at the bottom). Make sure a body part is selected (any will do).
Once you've loaded everything, and it looks good in the zeroed configuration, you need to export the clothes to an .obj file.
Select File-->Export-->Wavefront OBJ
Select Single Frame
Select the clothing items you wish to turn into a single character. If V3 is still in the scene, make sure she is DESELECTED. I start by deselecting UNIVERSE, which deselects everything. Then I select the clothing items I wish to use. Be careful here, some clothing items use hidden geometries to help with fitting. I always select every item of the clothes I wish to export, since I'll cannibalize the original CR2's and don't want problems with missing bits. Just select the top level of the hierarchy of each item you wish to export.
NOTE: In P6 you'll have to deselect all those irritating "Goal of Center" thingies...they are actual geometries that will be exported unless you're careful.
When finished hit OK...a new dialogue will pop up for export options. I deselect everything except "Include Body Part names in Polygon Groups". This will preserve the groupings in your new .obj file.
I normally save the file into the original directory. For example, many clothes makers will (irritatingly) create seperate left and right boots for your characters. I like a single CR2 file with both boots in it, so I'll use this procedure. When I save my new .obj, I'll save it into the same Geometry folder as the orginal clothing items, to make CR2 hacking easier later.
In UV Mapper you can check to make sure your new obj has proper groupings. If the .obj file doesn't have any groups, or if they're named strangely (i.e. not hip, chest, rCollar, etc.) then you've exported improperly and need to start over.
Once that's done, now you need to create a CR2 to handle the new figure. I usually start with the clothes makers original CR2, probably something with as many body parts as possible...like a main clothing item.
CR2 editing is really the hardest part. If you want, you can normally start with the V3 catsuit or V3 blank to give you a good starting point...but I typically will cannibalize the clothes makers original CR2's as a starting point.
Whew...I'm beat. Start with this...we can work on CR2 editing if there aren't any questions up to this point.

Thanks kuroyume! Great stuff. Can you collapse all the folds at once, or is it something you have to do one line at a time?

Thread: Utility to rename groups in an obj file? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: http://www.uvmapper.com/downloads.html
Just use UV Mapper (link to download area). The free version is very functional. You can assign groups, materials, and "regions" (normally just used in UV Mapper to help organize your stuff). Plus, you'll want a decent program to help lay out your UV Map if you plan on texturing.

Would it be possible to create a batch function for this utility? I'm sure a lot of folks out there would like to clean up their .obj files, but there are just so MANY!
Thread: Morphing madness | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You can use UV Mapper to re-order the verts on your morphed object...if that's indeed the problem. 1) Load your morphed object into UVMapper 2) Select Tools-->Vertices-->reorder 3) Dialog pops up asking for the original file --> select the original unmorphed .obj 4) Oila! Save the morphed object file and use in poser. If this doesn't work then you've either a) moved (rotated, etc) the file in some fashion, or b) added geometry that wasn't in the orginal file...but then you wouldn't have been able to use it in poser originally I guess. I think you have to be very careful with your export settings in Rhino...it's been awhile, but I remember fooling around with the export options ALOT! Hope this helps.

Well, he hasn't replied at all, so I suppose he's left. Is there a "no-distribution" clause in his free stuff? If not, I'm wondering if one of you could be kind enough to e-mail it to me. If it's a no-no, then I totally understand. Thanks.
