I would not advise people to buy it before checking out that they have a "Safedisk" copyright on their cd .I always make back-up copies of my programs and here comes Mimic with their cheesy copyright .I have ruined plenty of cds , before finding out their little "trick" . In short , I have programs worth more than Mimic and I can make a back-up of them , why spend all that money on Mimic , if something should happen to the cd , you're S.O.L. Unhappy Camper

I've got about 80 CD Roms and I've yet to have one give me a problem.. and I rarely even put them back in their sleeves Lipsinc will replace a CD if it should get damaged I can't blame companies for trying to take measures to hinder the thieves who otherwise will immediately not only rip them off.. but will also spread the stolen goods to as many people as they can. The dirtbag thieves are the ones to blame for any hassles that the honest people must suffer, not the software developers who are sick of being ripped off. Dillinger 3DThrills

I don't think that the software thieves are the ones to blame here. The problem is that software companies make some of the programs too expensive. If programs were cheaper, people would definetly buy them. The problem started way way back in the late eighties when software was going away for next to nothing. (I.e. WordPerfect for home users). Nowadays the software giants make programs much bigger, but not necceseraly better, and with the bigger part comes the cost as well. For a simple program (Music Maker) you need to pay about $50.- (and this is realy a simple program). Why not just $10,-? This way people would buy it before thinking about making a copy. It's just the same with music. Here in Holland a CD of U2 costs you F45,- (about $22,50). Why? Greetz Kas. P.S. Private e-mail is welcome. kas@box.nl
