I was working on this a few months ago, and kind of put it away for a while. Not sure why but tonight I felt like trying to create a glass shard effect. What do you think?

I wish I had your creative streak now, Alpha... (I want my scanner back!!!) I like the refraction effects you've created here. I like the abstraction created by the colors and blurs a lot. I keep on looking at this, trying to identify what the image is if the pieces were put together. (*

Yes its nice and has a very surealistic look to it.

...wondering what the image was, & deciding it's an abstract... luv the glass fragments! you sure you're allowed to play with sharp objects?

That depends cynlee... Every time they lock me up in the psych ward they make sure I cannot get at anyhing sharp, but when the let me out... (well you can guess the rest)

BTW... The original photo was a street art painting of an old man. This was stripped of its color and reworked using some sketching techniques and a wacom tablet. The color blend is from a photo of a CD reflecting daylight. The glass shards is a technique I am currently working on. I am pleased with the ones here, but I think I can take it farther with some more time and effort.

I like it, too. I wish I was better with "twisting" photos in PS. Message671424.jpg

Glad you got this out again Alpha. Just love the colouring and the glass effect wasnt sure about the empty space in the bottom left at first but I think it helps. Have you thought of using this technique with an old picture in a frame as the subject? :0)

Once I am really happy with the way it is working, I will find, or create an image to use it with for real. This one is just fun to experiment with... ;-)
