Hi folks, Glare is now available for Carrara and this is one of the free ones! Glare is the postrender filter that makes blooms and super highlights. Grab it at http://www.digitalcarversguild.com/postrenderpack1.html There's a tutorial from the RD days at http://digitalcarversguild.com/tutorials/glare/glare.htm that can show you what it's all about. While you're there check out our other extensions including Toon! and Anything Glows. Enjoy. Eric Winemiller Digital Carvers Guild Freeware and commercial 3D extensions http://digitalcarversguild.com

Eric, thank you! That is awesome! Now how bout doing something to give us some caustics? :-) Toon is next for me! Aeryk71

Oh yeah, caustics. To really do those, it needs to be incorporated into the renderer. You've got to trace from the light sources forward, creating lighting maps. And then do a normal render on top of it. Not up to writing one of those yet. Of course with a gel and a well placed spot, they can be faked very well in Carrara. I've been considering toon... Marque or Eric, can you post a render or two with and without Toon turned on? I'd like to see some comparisons... Thanks in advance, Aeryk71
