Transmapped hair is the best. The blocky modeled stuff that comes with Poser by default is no good for closeups - and not that great from a distance either :). Check out FreeStuff and MarketPlace for these. Also check Daz3d if for Michael/Victoria/Stephanie models from them.

And if you're willing to pay for it, Total Hair Complete, Gypsy Hair and Cleopatra Power Hair are good for even extreme closeups :)
