I'm currently starting to think about my next project and ever looking for a challenge would like to be able to 'dial' different attachments to a base model. I'm sure I've seen this done elsewhere, but never seen described how you go about it. Morphs targets wouldn't work because the objects would likely have very different polygon counts. Can anyone tell me how its done or point me in the direction of where I might find out?

Take a look at the hands of the old Poser 2 figures. They aren't poseable, but instead use swappable external geometry to switch between different preposed hands. Studying the CR2s might prove enlightening.

Sturkwurk, I think, is supposed to have a tutorial in the his Yahoo tech forum but I haven't been able to get Yahoo to co-operate and let me in (damn yahoo portholes! That's two yahoo groups driving me nuts!!) ya might try contacting him?

You might be reffering to JeffH who posted a sample file on the poserTECH group. If you don't like Yahoogroups. VK has posted another source for ERC info. It's written a little techy. But it has lots of good info in it.Crescent posted Thu, 19 December 2002 at 7:44 PM
Try doing a look up here on geometry switching. Also try the Poser Technical Forum. I think Anton / PheonixRising had a good number of posts on how to do this. You won't find a step-by-step but you may find enough to figure it out.

As far as I know Anton is the man to ask. His Changing Fantasy suit and Changing ponytail are the most common example. However, I believe thare are issues with conformers, and Tailoring Lyrra

The poserTech yahoo group has JeffH's examples which are a good start. Those are what I'm working from to put Geometry Switching into the next version of EasyPose Underground.
