Hello all. I made this nifty model of a flying wing aircraft. Dunno how good it is, but it wasn't too hard to make with Anim8or. Used a process of block modeling, subdivision, and pushing vertices around before converting to mesh. So, whaddya think?

Pretty cool. I have some High Res metal hull maps that would look good on that. You're welcome to use them to make textures if you want. Just IM me and I'll get them t you. ~EA

Pretty nice model! I like how the cockpit looks and where the engines was placed. Great job!

So, should I try uploading this to one of my Angelfire pages?
As a freebie to play with?
(If I do, it'll be zipped .obj format.)

Alrighty then... As soon as I can get it on my floppy from my offline 'puter. Also made a simple tutorial on how to make an SR-71 like aircraft. As usual though, it'll be a while before it shows up. Dunno what programs lack wireframe modellers other than Bryce and Poser. So those are the two that I related it to (no "other" category yet.) I'll post a link here after I upload the FlyWing.

Just trying to figure out how to get a decent bump map. Seems rough so far. Perhaps I should soften the greyscale that I made. Advice please...

The bump map... This is the bump map that made after exporting both the map and second model version from UV mapper. It was originally 1024x768, but I scaled it down for the post. It's still not complete, but I used it just to test the results so far.

It looks as if your bump map needs to be at a higher resolution pauljs75. I would aim for a base resolution of 3000x2250, then size down the map depending on how close you intend to view/render your model. If you intend to do really close up shots, then you may find that you have to go bigger! Cheers

I agreed with Cheers, the bump looks a little pixelated, maybe increasing the res or, antialiasing the streight lines will work.
