I just started using Poser 4.0 a few days ago. I am still trying to figure out how to put more than one figure on the scene. Please tell me how???? Another question. When I put in a prop (lets say a gun) and i want to make the person hold it in their right hand, i have no idea how to do that, i know you have to do somethin with set parent. Please be descriptive in your explanation, because I am really slow (lol). I hope some of you can answer these questions, I would really appreciate it.

for aplying more than one figure, you just have to go to the figure's tab, select one and then click on "creat new figure"

thnx for all the help i just need one more question answered. how do you make your figures hold props (ex. guns, swords)
Little_Dragon posted Sun, 22 December 2002 at 4:45 PM
Load the prop from the library. Move it into the character's hand. Painstakingly wrap the fingers around the prop, so it looks like he/she is holding it. Now, select the prop and parent it to that hand, so that it stays in place as you pose the character. Object menu --> Change Parent

If you go absolutely crazy on posing a gun hand there are some gun poses in the market place. I only say this as I went almost crazy posing a gun.LOL. Don't forget the Grasp and spread dials for each hand as well, these can get you half way there. I always use Grasp for swords. Remember dials work backwards or with negative numbers-- there are no numbers on the spread and grasp dials-- as well as forwards. You're clear on x, y and z? Usually x side to side, y up and down, z front and back. If you move the ifgure or add figures this can change. Emily

k last question is there anyway to make the person hold a sword with both hands????
Little_Dragon posted Sun, 22 December 2002 at 5:25 PM
Yes, but it involves IK, and some convoluted parenting, and it can cause breaks in the mesh around the wrist.
Unless you're animating, it might be easier just to parent it to one hand, and then pose the other hand manually.

After posing a gun in a hand for the first time, I saved the pose to my library. Unfortunately, it only works with phasers. ;-)

I find myself using Questor's hand poses alot for this kind of stuff....a very useful addition to the library. Shlabber did some 2handed sword poses that might come in handy.
