These are my first attempts at modeling comforming figures for Poser - everything below the belt (pants and boots). I know conforming armor sounds a little strange but I just didn't like the results when I made props. I'm asking for comments on their general appeal and suggestions for improvements. I will UV map them the modeling is finished. - - brschmidt

Looks very good. I think that the hip portion of the armour should be a little longer and cover more of the upper thigh. wander

Love them... I could really use those (and it's about time somebody started working on something to replace the damn chainmail bikinis!) Oh yeah, where did you get the chain tex on top? I could really use that too.. =) Rosh

Its a good start but it looks like the armor in the pelvis area is bending in the picture on the right.

Pretty good. I would like to see more of these type of projects. My only complaint would be that it looks more sci-fi than medieval. There should be a few noticable gaps between pieces where you'd see the chainmail.

wander & Gawain - I had the hip armor extending down more and it bent (conformed) even more when posing the figure. I'll give it a think on maybe remodeling as two pieces. Roshigoth - thanks. Ihawk - good point... I had planned on just using textures to map in some non-metal areas.

The looks depend on what kind of armor you want to do. If its a medieval realistic one no part should bend. The pieces should have open areas to allow movement (the back of the knees, the hip/thights joint, etc) that show the chainmail underneath. I recall medieval armors had movile pieces on the front, back and sides of the hip and bigger kneepads. Of course, if it's a sci-fi armor, it can be as flexible as you want. So far it looks very good. Rorschach

Could make a futuristic Joan of Arc with it. Looks very good, keep going dude! More power to you!

This is great! Just what I could use. I am hopeless at creating clothes myself, but have been looking for something like this for a long time. Where did the chain texture come from? And....are you doing a male version too ....pleeeeeeze!!!

ooh! i think it looks cool! (and seems to work nicely.) not realistic, sure, but cool nonetheless. you can 'fix' the hip by hitting ctrl-i and turning off the bend properties for it. then it won't, well, bend, obviously. :) of course, then you could have some trouble with the legs poking through it.
