I just can't get my head around why people insist that PSP is just as good as PS. I started out in PSP and progressed to PS; I personally would never go back. PSP is marketed as a web graphics tool and it's great for that and photo touch-ups and post work on your poser porn pics, but that's where it ends. PSP was affordable and aided me in my first tentative steps into the digital world - I owe it that much - but its got nothing on PS.
Excuse my ranting.

The people that compare PSP to PS and say they are equal are the same people who don't use all the features of a graphics program. Sure PSP can do some of the same things as PS but PS can do one hell of a lot more, in less steps and better organized too.
As for Zbrush? It can be finicky. Bah! Humbug!

Paint Shop No It is allright when people can have an affordable step into the realm of the Universe of ReX (that's the one where everyone knows 95% of the program, but that is another subject actually). I mean, the pixelpushing part of the world. Hell, I still use Bryce, Poser and Carrara instead of LightWave or something that the users of those apps would consider uncomparable (economical reasons). But there is a reason why PhotoShop is the number one program. And PSP is not. People prefer it. For a lot of reasons I presume. Happy New Year, by te way. Those festivities are round the corner too. Those loud noises outside are people having fun, they say (they tend to light a lot of fireworks in my country).

I've heard some fools say they can get freeware that is just as good as PS. But I would presume (and hope) they were talking in a "postwork" context.

I have to agree. I'm a long time user and huge fan of PSP. It was cheap and did the job. Now, I am learning PS and PSP doesn't even come close. I'm sure I'll still rely on PSP for a few things but only until I can figure out where all the tools are in PS. (Stupid learning curve. I stay lost about half the time.)
