I just got Poser 5 for xmas. I installed Poser5, rebooted my computer, then installed the 2 patches. I installed Poser5SR1figures first and then Poser5-SR-2_1. Then I tried to launch the software. I have tried at least 5 times to get it to take the serial number and it won't. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

maybe you should try to input the number before using the patches.

thgeisel , do you think I should uninstall it and then reinsatll without patches? Thanks

*"maybe you should try to input the number before using the patches".*

I agree.
Install first register and then patch.
It's only logical.

hmmm. I did it exactly the way lululee did and it worked fine. I intentionally did it that way to by pass the interlock system.(which the SR2 patch got rid of) All it asked me for was my serial number and that was it. Strange Good luck tom

I've tried both ways and it doesn't accept any of them on 2 different computers. Must be something wrong with the serial number. I wonder if anyone is at Curious Labs today. Thanks for everyone's help.

Don't try the serial number before the patch if you want to bypass the security system. Not sure if anyone is back in CL today-- they were supposed to be taking a vacation. I just installed afraid that would happen to me-- I was lucky for a change. Did P5 install, reboot, installed figures, reboot, install SR2_1 reboot launch and use serial number. Worked. So does P5 apparently.:)) Emily

did you type in the dashes? it is also case sensitive

lululee posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 2:02 PM

Dah! Operator related. I was typing a letter rather than a 1. Thanks for all of your help.

:shake head: I've had so many serial numbers with l's and/or 1's and O's and/or 0's that I really don't like any number or password system which requires that you mix letters and numbers. I understand why they have to do it and it may explain why so many forumites have names which are impossible to type on the first try (I'm dyslexic, and I don't touch-type), but it usually does mean trying again with variations. Glad that you figured it out, and it was so easy to solve. Carolly

So glad it worked out!!! Don't feel too bad, I've done that so many times and ranted and raved to the techs before I realised my error. DOn't know how we are supposed to guess which is which. Emily
