Subject: Question for DAZ about Vicki 3 Morph...

Maveris ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 1:27 PM · edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 6:49 AM

It's possible have form DAZ a table conversion (like excel sheet) from V2 to V3 dials? For example I don't see: - AbsLine - AbsPak - SuperHeroine ... Where are the corrispondent dials? I think that this help for morphing V3 like V2 character. Thanks in advance, Mav :) P.S. sorry for my poor english

Personnaly, when I try to inject the morphs it doesnot take my 1.2Ghz CPU minutes or hours but DAYS!!!!! I bought V3 last week but can't even work with her as I can't morph her, express her! FRUSTRATING!

daverj ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 2:58 PM

Your OS is probably not configured right. Either not enough real RAM, or not enough virtual memory, or not enough clear hard drive space on the C: drive for virtual memory or temp files. My dual 1Ghz PIII system can inject every V3 morph in less than a minute.

I have: 768 Mo of RAM 2 Go of pagefile.sys more than 700Mo of free space on C: more than 1Go of free space on my Poser partition My system is perfectly well configured, thank you!

Hi, all Olivier, I have 1.7GHz with 512MB of RAM and WIN2000 OS, I can load all morph (body and head) in 4 minutes. tonymouse, many thanks for your reply I'll check your link. Mav :)

Tashar59 ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 4:25 PM

I only have 1Ghz with 128Ram, it takes about 4 min. on windows ME for complete inj. No problems. I wonder why some of the bigger systems have trouble, or maybe I'm just one of the lucky few. Tashar 59

Hello, I have a similar problem. I have a Pentium III 800 with 750RAM. When I load all the face morphs, Poser freezes up. I think it is probably my OS ( I have ME). It works if I inject each morph by hand. It is indeed frustrating. Warm Regards, Nancy Deer With Horns (SophiaDeer)

Personnaly I think that DAZ should have done some beta testing before selling their product! Since Curious Labs Beta test on Poser 5, it seems that other companies are doing the same!!!!! I don't think it's a matter of cpu, ram, free space or OS: we're too many with too many different configurations, sharing the same problem for supposing that! Probably is it due to Poser 5 itself... But once again DAZ has to sell products that works!!! I sent a message to their technical service 3 or 4 days ago... still no answer for this problem... Wait and see!

PheonixRising ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 7:08 PM

Maveris, Many morphs were retired or changed so much that you would not always get similar results using the "same" morphs. A spreadsheet would take alot of time to make. No promises but I can mention it. Olivier, I appreciate that whatever problem you are experience is real. She was beta tested by dozens of people as well as all of us. All using different systems and versions of Poser We'll look into it to see what might be causing the P5 problems some of you seem to have. Your system stats have nothing to do with the injections. Significatly lesser systems have had no problems. It is either a OS or a Poser5 problem. Or a combination of both. We are away till Monday for the holiday. I am sure you will get a response to your email then. Anton Daz3d Platinum Club

STORM3 ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 7:36 PM

I agree completely Oliver. My spec: Athlon XP2000, 1.5 Gigs DDR Ram, Win 2K Pro SR2 OS, And when I try to load the V3 !All Body Morphs and !All Head Morphs Injection files Poser 4.03 and Poser 5 Sr2 lock. I can load some of the individual grouped morphs e.g. Breast-Chest etc. but the full enchilada creates a "program not responding message." I used the auto install options in the installer to both my P4 and P5 Runtimes located on Drive C. So Since I am clearly not lacking in Ram or CPU power and my system is tweaked to run at a seriously high optimal for Poser, I can only conclude that there is a bug somewhere in the injection file path system that is evading us at the moment. BTW, I purchased the Base Upgrade, Body and Head morph packs, Poses and Texture packs. Anton I appreciate your personal respose at a time when Daz is short-staffed. It is jaust a hunch, but could it be something with Win 2K Pro and Injection Morphs? STORM Fed-up of being a beta tester

Olivier ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 7:43 PM

I have exactely the same problem now! Let me explain: before I installed all the files in my download folder and had many difficulties to load any kind of inj poses... the little ones loaded but after a bunch of minutes (10 to 30). I installed the poses into my Poser directory and the "little" inj poses work quicker (1 to 3 minutes). Unfortunately, when I try the "all inj" poses or the "FBM inj" poses: poser seems to take all my cpu working, working, working, but no result at all! Anton, I do appreciate your helping hand but I'm sure of my system! That come from Poser5 and/or the Inj pose files... in my opinion!

bijouchat ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 7:49 PM

I had to inject them pretty much individually too. If I tried to inject them all at once, poser would freeze up solid.

bijouchat ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 7:53 PM

btw, have WinME and Poser 4. However, I was a bit low on drive space on C... (down to less than 2 gig) have since changed that situation since then and moved my massive poser installation to a larger partition. Haven't checked to see if it would inject better now, but I can say that the poser freezing problem is real for some of us. It could be a resource management problem on some systems... probably was on mine.

STORM3 ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 8:01 PM

bijouchat I have 19.4 Gigs of free space on my C drive and around 4 gigs of page cache.

bijouchat ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 8:55 PM

upps, meant I have Poser Pro Pack, sorry. 19.4 gigs Storm... that's a lot, and only a bit less than what I have free on the partition I have Poser installed on now... I have no idea what's causing this problem. I got them to inject individually, just took me a while.

STORM3 ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 9:17 PM

bijouchat I know it is not my system. I have managed to load and use 500MB+ models in Poser on my current system, and use Vicky 2 Cr2's over 120 MB in size (lots of morphs), and everything works fine even with Poser 5. So I think this is a Daz bug. New way of doing things = new bugs. Otherwise I realy like V3 (apart from the lack of polys in her Buttock/Hip area but that can be solved :0) particularly since Daz got rid of the 5+ sided-polys that infected Vicky 2! Regards STORM

RNKarenER ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 10:18 PM

Can anyone answer why Vic3 takes so much space to begin with? Half of my pose files are full of Vic3 morphs. And she is still neked! Just a thought.... None of the wonderful textures i have will go on Vic 3, I am putting Vic 3 on the back burner for a while. A costly investment too!

bijouchat ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 10:32 PM

the uvs files for V3 to take V2 mapping are at the Daz site, free download.

bijouchat ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 10:35 PM

There's also a V3toV2 cr2, she can wear V2 clothing and use all the V3 face morphs (not body morphs though)It takes time to get used to her but you can use your old Vic clothing with her.

PheonixRising ( ) posted Thu, 26 December 2002 at 11:15 PM

It is likely a Poser releated thing assuming people are legitimately allowing for the extended wait of the "all" Injections. It is likely how Poser relacts with the OS. The "All" injectors are trickier because they are scripts that call scripts. There was a problem with P4 "All" injectors but we fixed that one. We'll figure it out I am sure. Adding individually takes about the same time though it involves more clicking. Anton Olivier, Noone is questioning your system. It will be ok, please relax. What is up with all the exclamation points?

Poser isn't 'freezing' per se. That's the behavior it exhibits when it can't find something. It looks over and over again and again sometimes forever. I suspect the problem has to do with the libraries and where/which runtime the Pose files were installed. Those who install Vicky 3 to Poser 5 runtime and do the injections from Poser 5 runtime don't seem to have a problem. FWIW

Maveris ( ) posted Fri, 27 December 2002 at 3:30 AM

Hi all, I read the post of many people that have problem with load all morph... I just play with my V3 and I found the strange, but true, solution for increase the speed of loading character: - load V3 - load all morph (or individually if you have problem with all) - save the figure (I save in DAZ People with "Vicki3 Full") The cr2 file is about 118MB. My time of loading is now 42 seconds! Hope help you, Mav :)

SophiaDeer ( ) posted Fri, 27 December 2002 at 5:04 AM

Hi Mav, Thanks for the advise. I tried it and it works great. Full Victoria3 takes me about 90 seconds to load but that is a lot faster than the 5 minutes it took to load all the morphs before. You're a genius! Warm Regards, Nancy Deer With Horns (SophiaDeer)

One thing to make sure of - select Vicky3 body before trying to inject the morphs! I had the main camera selected the first time I tried - Poser locked up. I was still having problems with Poser 5 since I was linked to the Poser 4 runtime. Once I installed Vick3 to the main Poser 5 runtime, everything injects fine (within 3 minutes). Peggy
