This is my first attempt in ages at making a Si-Fi type thing and it's far from finished, but it would be good to hear folks opinions. I'm working on another idea too and when it's in a reasonable state I'll let you have a look. Please comment, but don't be toooooo hard on me 'cos I'm very nervious. 8o) Cheers Catlin

Very interesting design, reminds me of a Von Neumann probe. No reason to be nervous catlin, you're among friends.

Ok I'll stop being nervious since you are all being so positive. I think it's the eye Colette1 that perhaps makes it look almost alive. I put that in as part fun and part sensor, a seeing probe. The reason I'm unsure is because this is from Rhino and I'm totally new with that program, but I realised some time ago that it's a good thing to be able to make your own models and I'll get there eventually. BTW, has anyone ever seen a model for a complete fishing rod with reel and all. Is that no, but thats what I mean you really got to be able to do it yourself. Well thanks for the input and I'll keep working on it and see what happens. Catlin

Catlin, nice ship! Did you model it yourself? Very nice. If you can, I'd vary some of the stars colors a little - hint at red yellow and blue for some of them (not too much, but a little.). Don't be nervous, - TJ

Very nice model. No need to be nervous. I always knew you had what it takes to be a good artist.

The ship looks very nice. Only, the light is too soft. No blurring of shadows in space, AFAIK.

Bikermouse, how do I change star colors in Bryce5 sky lab? I've never seen anything about color there. Mind you my eyesight is terrible. 8o) Catlin
bikermouse posted Sat, 28 December 2002 at 11:47 PM
Catlin, I make my own sky sphere or 2-d sky pict for star scenes. either way you would have the control you would want as you use a psd or bmp for the texture in either of those methods. I don't know if you can change it useing the bryce stars. Alternatively you could set it up as a post render effect in photoshop or other paint program. - TJ

That looks brilliant, much better without the red. :)
