A couple of thing troubled me about V3 since I first heard she wouldn't be 100% V2 compatible. First... V3 has got roughly 2.5 times the resolution of Miss Vicky2, and 4 times the resolution of Lo-Res Vicky. Now I don't care how great your computer is. There are times when Ms. Vicky3 will be a little too much for your poor PC to handel. Like when your trying to get a gang of her into a scene. Low-Res figures exist for more than just being a bargain. Just like real actors have stunt doubles, Lower Res stand-ins can make it possible to render scenes you never could have otherwise. In a far shot, how much detail can you see? Another thing is...What happen when V3 clothes are prevelent? Sure Right now there are none. But in 6 months I bet finding new stuff for OLD Vicky is going to be a real pain. With this in mind... I've begun my V2toV3 Project. V2 is now... and will be for a good long time, an excelent mesh. Look how far some people have dragged poor Possette into staying useful. No reason Vicky2 deserve less. So what I've done so far... is re-grouped Vicky 2 to take V3's Joint Params and skeleton. Since the 2 figures default OBJ files are so closely matched, there was little trouble modifying them. While disecting the mesh it was easy to see Vicky3's lineage. The two meshs are a lot closer than many realize. As is Lo-res Vicky. There are few major problems. First... V2toV3 will still not be able to take any V2 Morphs. I'm working on a compromise that will give V2toV3 Vicky3's body while still maintaing the ability to take Vicky head morphs, but I haven't tried it yet. I do have a solution that would provide all the morphs of V2... but it would requre DAZ to distribute the file, and I'm not they would even want this. One of the benefits of reworking Vicky2 for V2toV3 is that I cleaned up all those greater than 4 point Polys that snuck in there. Another point of interest... this is exatly the same method needed to get clothes to be V3 compatible. When I get a bit further down the read... I'll look into doing the same modification V2 Clothing packs.
