a dumb question cause I haven't read the manual and am figuring Poser 4 out by playing with it.....Say I'm making an animation of one character lifitng up another. I'll go through the process of moving them and setting key frames, then, when I'm done, it doesn't match up. Say the liftee is still for half of the animation....well, when I click play, he magically starts to drift up to his final position, even though I set keyframes of him standing still for half of the animation. What do I need to turn on/off? thanks

Have you tried editing the animation graphs? You click on the key-shaped icon at the lower right side of the screen, on the animation tool bar to open the animation keyframe window. Then, click on the arrow next to the figure or element you want to edit. Then double click on the thing that is giving you trouble... probably the hip or body Y-tran. Then you will see the animation graph. You can edit the graph directly, but you may need to change from spine interpolation to linear or constant. Animating in Poser can be frustrating, but it is fun. I hope this helps, Ericroy

After you have the keyframe graph open, one quick cure is to place a Spline Break (or several) on the troublesome parameter, around the point where things start to go wrong. This will allow the movement to be natural-looking (splinish) on both sides of the break, but will prevent the movement before that point from "pulling" the movement afterward. Spline Break is one of the buttons in the lower left part of the graph frame.

I agree. Spline break would be better than linear or constant. Ericroy
