For those whom haven't seem my promos on the set already, this is Dungeon Lighting Kit I. The bullseye lantern really works -- it holds a working spotlight and the transparencyof the glass gives the cast light a properly 'dirty-edged' look. It's also a posable prop. The flame props are all gravity-affectable. The set's intended (I say intended because I don't know if DAZ may or may not make changes to the release package yet) to come with two 'graviton' utility props which create an 'up' and as 'down' for things to point at. All the flames have multiple flicker and surge morphs allowing you to animate the fire or simply adjust it to yuor preferred state. Whether you want a brightly burning, raging flame or a subtly flickering one, or a windblown, stretched fire, you can do it with these. Both the candle props have melt targets, with FBMs so you can melt the candle without having to manually adjust the flame's position. The candelabra even has a melt-all dial in the candelabra itself which allows you to evenly melt all three candles! There's a firefly jar with, and another without fireflies. The one without lets you populate it yourself and have total control over the positions of the bugs, and the one with has 31 set-position fireflies with a 'Bzzz' dial so you can make them fly around all at once with the twist of a dial. The cork is removable. The Aetheric Capacitor has multiple animatable surge and flux dials to let you adjust the effects of the energy surge, and nova dials to enlarge or shrink the balls of energy on the sides. The sizes and shapes of various parts of the Tesla coils are also controllable. The alchemical potion has an easy-to-texture label, removable cork, and a 'pour' morph dial so you can use it at angles other than 'upright', a common limitation to many liquid props. Everythign but the staff comes with morph dials. The staff is a standard prop parenting a very realistic false volumetric effect. And, unlike my Free Stuff bonfire and torches, these flames render well from above and extreme angles, too!

SAMS, yup, this is it. And I have two more Dungeon Lighting Kits on the way, too, both of which are more than half done. Other threads promoting this set:
Note that the renders in many of these are before finalisation of the texturemaps, expecially the bumpmaps which I've fixed up in places. By the way, if you search the galleries for 'Dodger' you will find heaps of pics using my free torches and bonfire, and people really like them. The flames in this set completely put my free flames to shame. No kidding. I'm the guy who makes the fire, and if I didn't make this, I'd buy it (at least to see how I did it!)

Ok that's settled. If there is only one thing to get in January, this is it! Hope it is reasonably priced. I used the freestuff torch once - and though it was great, I still had to do some postwork. This set looks fantastic!!!

Stormy, it's okay, you had to go on a trip but I had to get this out in time to be able to cover at least some of my lost UEC, that's all. Thanks very much Firebirdz, pendarian, and dragongirl. I've submitted a $19.99 price, with the standard 30% off first ten days thing. As I said, I don't know if there will be any changes before it comes out, since DAZ does a lot of QA and marketing legwork. They might suggest a lower price, they might modify the contents in some way (For instance, my submission included a set of the props with P5 settings (thanks Nerd!) but I don't know if that will go in since DAZ doesn't support P5, that kind of thing. (Oh, yeah, if they do pull the P5 copies, I'll get someone to help me build MT5 files for it all and put those up in my Free Stuff. I'm not super keen on what I've seen about P5, either, but I'm personally not going to be obnoxious about it, and want to support all my users, whatever they're using, if I can.)

Pretty much the only thing that doesn't work on it is the maintenance door on the side, and that's primarily because, never having been a street vendor, I have no clue whatthe inside looks like! L
_dodger posted Sat, 04 January 2003 at 5:33 PM
And don't worry, I am also getting more done on Dungeon Lighting Kits I and III, too! I'm having a high biorhythm weekend, I think.

I can't wait for the lighting set. I hope a dithering idiot like myself will be able to use it. LOVE the cart! It could lead to a whole set of them. Ice cream next? Diane

Hey Dodger great news about the Dungeon lighting kit_ and as a fellow vendor _ welcome to DAZ! I really hope this does well for you and helps you out with your current crisis_ it should. As a producer of critters I can also say 'what a cool/hot firefly'_ I love your animation! Don't spend all your DAZ bucks at once!
_dodger posted Sun, 05 January 2003 at 6:30 AM
Thanks, noggin! though I'll probably have to (spend 'em all at once, that is) on expenses. I suppose it depends on how much I bring in, though.
