I've been going through a lot of postwork hair tutorials since I got my tablet, and every time they call upon me to use the smudge tool I seem to run in to the same problem. For some reason when I smudge it adds colors to the smudge that aren't actually there. Usually it will be pretty crazy colors like hot greens and purples. If anyone has any clue about this please respond. It has really been a hold up. Thanks.

smudge tool:- when you have the cursor over the image, right click and choose normal, see if that works, also make sure "preserve transparency" is turned off for the layer you are working on

Hey! This happens to me too. Wow. Didn't know anyone else was having this problem. Please let me know how it has worked out for you. I tend to find that either mine makes different colors or mostly it marks the smudge part look darker/burned. Are you running it on a MAC?

Nope, PC. I tried what you said about using normal mode mini_cooper, and that seemed to work. However, the tutorial that I'm going off of specifically says to use darker mode. Would it make much of a differnce if I use normal? Thanks for all the help so far. -CelestialBadger

Ah ok. :) Hmm, I will have to try it then. I have Adobe on my MAC. But I have a PC too. If you want, I could try it out on "darken" mode and see what happens. :) I hope what mini_cooper suggested works for me too.
