I am trying to come up with clothes that will be flowing in nature for a still scene. I am struggling with getting the clothes that I model in 3ds max 2.5 to calculate correctly in the cloth room. I am working with .obj files both on the import and export. Typically the clothing does not seem to respond as well as the preset props (cloth plain) already in poser. Does anyone have soem suggestions on how to best model and import clothing into poser. Is the problem with 3d studio max and if so should I explore another program to model Poser 5 clothes with.

I haven't played to much with the cloth room yet, but from what I understand about it, the more faces in the mesh, the better it will simulate real cloth (bending and such) hope that's some help :)

YOu are correct about the more faces in the mesh. I think that I solved the problem I was running into. My meshes had a lot of faces but I failed to make them one sided. I then moved to creating them in nurbs, imported them into Poser. Now they are behaving.

theoart, did you create them in nurbs and convert them to polygons or just bring them in to Poser as nurbs. I'd like to do some clothes in Maya.

I created the mesh in nerbs and then just exported it as a obj file. In my 3d studio max I can set the nurbs properties to a mesh and adjust the level of vertices and faces in the mesh. I have not had a chance to play with Maya so I am not sure what needs to be done there. I prefer nurbs over regular primatives since I can set it to 1 sided faces.
