Hi, I would like to know if is there any change in the extensions of the typical files in the new version of Poser... I mean: .pp2, .cr2, ... Ive heard the Bump Maps are now in .jpg as the color maps... but is there any other change? Thanks a lot! ;-)

From what I can tell, no changes in existing file types, Material files have an extension all their own, now, and yeah, Poser 5 uses image files and bum files (but I can't seem to see a way to convert them...)

Like the Pro Pack a compressed file format is available and the extension ends in "z". Example: "YourFile.cr2" can be saved compressed as "YourFile.crz".
The bulky Poser .bum format is no longer created and other graphic formats can be used in the bump channel.

As a side note, all material channels can also be animated... and AVI's can be used as any mapping channel. Case in point, as an experiment, I put an AVI in the Bump channel once... really disturbing, as the surface seemed to flow... Even more disturbing, I put it in the Displacement channel and watched it go. ^_^

You think that's weird, Valandar? Try plugging the Movie node into Transparency ... all sorts of neat swirly, smoky, transporter-like effects are possible.
