I was very saddened to hear of the three sites closing down. Basically because they are commiting suicide. If you close down your site when a theft alert is given, who are you punishing? Not the thief, that's for sure! He's probably laughing his ass off. You are punishing the Poser Community, and that's a FINE way to thank those who noticed the thefts and reported them. What a GREAT way to encourage people to continue to be vigilant about thieving of intellectual property! If THIS is how they are rewarded, they may keep silent next time! Suicide, I tell you! Greywolf (Who understands the emotion, but is PISSED at the messy logic accompanying it.)

Oh YEAH! well... hmmmmmm.... you got a point. (Doug scratches his head and ponders...) The life of the webmaster... all glory, gala events, tons of money... well, actually none of that... but we still look after our sites, almost like our children. And yes, we do a knee jerk reaction because it upsets us to be used. So for now, the 3DCC is still open, and will remain so... until Y2K (oops, that already went by didnt it?) So I guess we STAY OPEN... now... who's going to donate some more files? That guy's site needs more stuff! Doug (thinking more clearly now)
I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

Thanks for the reply, Doug. I understand kneejerk reactions, and I'm VERY glad to see you decide to stay open. Zygote, and others, will nail this scumbag's moldy carcass to the wall eventually. In the meantime, we keep our eyes peeled for other violations as we surf. It's our way. :) a relieved Greywolf

So I go home from work and I get in here finally and what's happened? 3DCC will stay online? What about the prop's guild? Do we still need to set up a site for all the artists who will suddenly find their work pulled from the net?
Truth has no value without backing by unfounded belief.

Greywolf, you're absolutly right! And Ashlocke, thanks for your encouraging words! You're right, too.
