I'm considering buying vicky 3, but have some questions regarding her. 1 - I still want to keep my Vicky 2, and not have vicky 3 replace her. Will the upgrade pack do that? 2 - I know Vicky 3 has been remapped, but is there a setting that will allow me to use textures made for vicky 2 on vicky 3? 3 - I noticed that there is the base, and then a morph expansion pack. Does that mean that if I just buy the base, it doesn't come with any morphs to change her body shape? 4 - I'd like to know more about this morph injection. 5 - Anything else you know about it that is cool/not cool, etc. Thanks for your time. The upgrade won't get rid of V2. Most of your other questions are answered here in the link. :)Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.

As for morph injections - it's another way of loading morphs into a figure, as opposed to the "select-body-part-find-morph-object-rename-to-something-meaningful-forget-what-you-called-it-throw-computer-out-of-window" approach. :) Simpler, easier but can be slooooow at times.

One last thing to mention-- the Vicki base contains minimal expression morphs. A smile?? In my opinion if you are going to economise on Vicki3 at first, at least include the head morphs. There are now plenty of textures out-- well, one or two.LOL And a few clothes. But you need those head morphs. Emily

SteffyZ (who makes the world's best textures) has just released two more for V3.0 (both in one pack) V3.0 can be made into a man, (either out of the box, or with the aid of the new Daz kit) The head morphs are huge download! There is a free bikini and textures in freestuff if you don't fancy parting with $10 for the Daz one. There is a method for converting clothes from V2.0 to 3.0 using the Tailor program and a specially built manequin to use as a V2.0 base (in freestuff), as well as a few poses to tweak the JCM's (freestufff again) but this requires a fair bit of work apparently... V2.0 hair requires a bit of tweaking to work right on V3.0 allegedly. The Joint Controled Morphs (JCM's) are really cool, (and really work :) If you get her make sure you download the service pack too. later jb

Well, I guess I got my answers. lol. I guess I've got some things to think about, and possible some money to save up. Thanks for the info!

Actually, there are NO morphs in the Vickie III base, other than the JCM ones. These are a couple/three Full Body "Morphs", but they actually run scaling. So you sorta have to by the morph set, but I think the injection thingee is a great idea, and worked fine for me.

Dragontales,
1 - The upgrade version only checks to see if you've installed a previous version. It does not replace any files.
2 - V3 comes with a "Vicky 3 to Vicky 2" version that will (with the exception of teeth, gums and pubic hair) wear V2 textures "out of the box". On the product page exists a free download to allow you to put V2 UVs on the V3 mesh.
3 - The figure was divided into 3 packages to allow the customer to decide what price point made sense to them, for the features they wanted. The base includes everything for functionality. The morph packs includes the respective morphs for diversity.
4 - I've written a couple tutorials on the technology used in V3. It is hosted on my website [rbtwhiz.com - tutorial quicklinks at the bottom of the page]. Though I'm fighting for time to complete them (especially the one explaining morph injection), what I have completed (to the point it makes sense, not wanting to post something that rapidly jumps between thoughts as I convert my notes) is posted.
5 - My opinion, regardless of what I said, would most likely be viewed as biased... so I'll just say that an enormous amount of development went into creating her.
Jim,
Actually, that is incorrect. There are 50 morphs [see below] in the base package (in addition to the JCMs).

Yeah, I stand corrected, I installed the morph packs when I installed the figure, I didn't realize some of those injector folders came with V3, I thought they all were from the morph packs. I was just going by what I found in the base figure, sorry! ;-)
