Hi , I'm looking on working on a little project for all the Max Headrrom fans out there .Max was an 80's pop icon , a virtual personality with two different shows in the UK and USA . Do a google search and you'll find a wealth of images and websites. One problem though , nobody has created a Max Headroom screensaver . We have the technology ! The original Max was the actor Matt Frewer dressed up in latex make up and digitally enhanced through an Amiga ! So, I have skills in Flash , very basic skills in Poser and some 3Ds Max experience . I'm looking for creative collaborators , especially someone who can mock up a Max model in poser that looks very close to the original character . Anyone who might have technical reasons to think that there is a better way than Flash to render up a low-ish file size screensaver . The bottom line to consider is that this project , if you want to help , will be a product of love and not financial gain . I'd like to distribute the final product as freeware , so we can bring Max into the 21st century and allow a number of happy people have a Max Headroom screensaver . Up for the job ? hope to hear from you hiab-x

ya know i've been a fan since when the show originally air'd, and since techTV brought it back, its been on my mind once again.. its a shame they only made 17 episodes.. and now frewer is looking his age these days. but with poser and all, I have been thinking of giving the shot at a model, I will see what i can come up with..

Thats cool :-) Anything from anyone that can help get the Max screensaver up and running for the public domain is more than welcome to participate . Did you ever catch the UK MH shows ? (These were the ones where he was a video jockey and interviewed pop stars of the era ...some of the finest , most surreal TV of its era ...imho ! :) keep in touch

Love Max!!! Must have seen every (US) episode a jillion times, but never knew there was a paralell UK series....how does one get ahold of those episodes?

Well, at lest 2 minutes into the future. I,ve seen them all, it was a great show, have the t-shirt put away somewhere. The dork would work well for this, almost same shape. Don't think it would take much to make max. BTW - Did you ever see Frewer's TV show, Doctor,Doctor? It was funny. Good luck, I'll see what I can come up with. Tashar 59

The pilot episode is available on VHS. No DVDs as yet, regrettably.

The episodes are currently running on TechTV. The next one is Saturday, January 18th, at 9PM Central.

Well , more MH fans crawl out of the digi wallpaper ! I'd be up for a "Bring back Max campaign" I reckon either the US seies or the UK vid-jock show on DVD would be well recieved by all who loved the MH experience . As a suggestion for the USA fans, go to the UK website for Channel 4 , goto enquiries/contact and unload your desires upon them , this has always been the best way to get on a case and pummel TV networks into submission.C'mon , you KNOW you want Max on a DVD ! In the meanwhile , back to the original thread , I've been checking out alternatives to the Flash idea, so far a handfull of progies I'm not sure about that suggest they can make 3D presentations and screensavers. Ideally , it would be great to have a good looking max model, a 3D background of typical MH background textures , some sound samples and a little bit of facial animation timed to the sounds . The closer to the original look , the better . Reasons to do this part 2. Its a freeware screensaver project , the downloads can be tracked , the numbers recorded , lots of people would love it, and the figures would add weight to ann arguement that MH , cult phenomenon or not , still has some life in his pixels yet ...Oh, and of course , any creative contributions get credited in the final product .

Is Max eligible for office in the U.S. He might make a great pre-pre-president!

I guess we're all giving away our age. Yup, I got a kick out of MH too.

I'm not very old. However, according to the birthdate on my Drivers License, it is.
